Atlanta post qualifying quotes from Robby Gordon:

ROBBY GORDON (No. 7 SPEED Energy Dodge Charger R/T): HOW DIFFICULT IS IT TRYING TO QUALIFY EACH WEEK? “The reality is today I can’t find enough sponsors to run the whole race. But if you just stay home you don’t learn. The deal is this gives us the opportunity to come learn and we’re not the only ones doing it. As much as it hurts everybody hearing me do it, it hurts me to do it. I’m a racer and I want to go out and compete and race people but the first thing we have to do is we have to learn how to qualify so that we can race people and we’re working on that very hard.”

ARE YOU ENCOURAGED BY THE RUN? “I’ve always liked Atlanta. Our Dodge Charger is good. It’s our own powerplant with Joey Arrington so we’re obviously making enough power to make the show so I’m happy about that.”

pretty self explanatory.
So, is RG running the whole race lol.

Went to the ALMS race in Baltimore today. Great course and atmosphere. Love the ALMS and IndyCar paddock. Talked to crews and drivers. They treat the fans great.

Four more races tomorrow.
Hey man, I was there too, all three days. The atmosphere and access put NASCAR to shame. The racing was awesome. It has even almost changed my opinion of Baltimore. And, all the men wear shirts!
Who is Joey Arrington? Where did he come from. Kinda cool that RGM is doing their own motors.
So is the 7 running a Hemi now?
LOL, which vehicle?
Joey Arrington engines have been around forever. Does Joey actually work in-house at RGM now, or does Arrington build RGM's engines? The latter would make more sense for a cash-strapped team.
From good old Wikipedia:

"Joey Arrington (born July 25, 1956) is an American NASCAR driver from Rocky Mount, Virginia.[1] He made nine Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup Series) starts with a best finish of 12th.[1] He made his first start in 1974 as a 17 year old and raced until 1980.[1]
He is currently the owner of Arrington Engines and is the son of former NASCAR driver Buddy Arrington. Arrington is a partner in Bobby Hamilton Racing."
I think the key is that Arrington has a long history with Dodge Motorsports. With Jeep involved for DAKAR,it makes since to team with Arrington.
gotta do what ya gotta do
