I took some liberty, TOG and RGM forgive me for not asking permission, to get custom HTC Sense 3.0 lock rings created for my rooted HTC Thunderbolt...they are simply quite awesome! :)

If it's okay I will post a link to them here. You will need to create a login account to the forum (Team Bamf). Free to register and free to download, but of course if you use/like them and if you feel so inclined you can PayPal donate to the kid who made them...solely up to you.

http://teambamf.net/showthread.php/1597-Mod-Sense-3.0-Lock-Rings

They are on Page 1, post #8 of the thread.

Here are the previews..

The Speed ring looks as is (no white border outside of the lock ring)...the PR one has no white border at all ..it's just the logo as the lock ring and looks sharp!

So if you have an HTC Android phone, root away, get a Sense 3.0 rom on there and put one of these beauties on it!!!

Also, if PR or RGM wants them pulled, just let me know and I'll tell the kid who made them to take them down off the forum they are on....
cool
Not sure how many users have rooted HTC Android phones...but if you do its pretty cool unlocking your phone with either the Speed Energy or PlanetRobby logo every time you do!

I'll try to get a screen shot of each in action..just need to get my hands on another camera.
Whats rooting your phone mean? Doesnt it make your battery last longer? I have an HTC Sensation.

Ive been looking for a website that gives me easy step by step directions... any ideas? Im very stupuid when it comes to computers
Android is basically linux

rooting your phone means giving yourself root, or superuser (think...admin) access, giving you access to system files and the ability to change things that normally are marked read only

This allows you to change all kinds of things that normally you wouldn't be able to, along with install custom versions of Android.

It is the equivalent of jailbreaking an iPhone so to speak.

So think of your phone as an XP business laptop where you are a locked down user (not an admin). Rooting gives you the admin privileges to make all changes (so you can remove all the crappy bloatware the phone carriers put on oyur laptop)...and one of the cooler abilities is being able to put on different ROMs (operating systems)...so as a comparison say you wanted to go to Windows 7 on your "laptop" you now could where as before you could not.

On these phones, people way smarter than me write custom ROMs (Operating sytems). Once you are rooted, you can then put these on your phone to run the latest software, as many carriers are slow and even stop giving updates to your phone even though they are capable of handling it.

Every phone has its own method of rooting it...it's not for the faint of heart. It also voids your phone's warranty as it would be running software not officially approved (though if you have Best Buy black tie protection it is covered).

Long story short..My Thunderbolt out of the box was running Android 2.2 with HTC Sense 2.1 (and still would be to this day)

After rooting and finding a cool custom ROM, I am running Android 2.3.4 with HTC Sense 3.0, which has way more eye candy than 2.1 (the lock ring being one of them which I can now alter).

I'll take a look to see if your phone has an easy root method and what custom ROMs are available.
OMG, that just made my head spin hahaha. I think I better keep it the way it is. Thank you for the comment... this is WAAAAYAYYYYY over my head.
