Yeah bout time for another full race. Qualifying will be hard but if in race i know robby has top 20 car. Also Bashas will also be sponsoring robby for pheonix.
I really hope Miles and the boys have a good motor and unload fast. The competition to qualify in will be very stiff.

Michael Waltrip will have a pretty fast car. Joe Nemecheck usually has a great plate motor to qualify in (so Kevin Conway will too, remember it's a fast 2 laps on a very smooth track). FRM teams will have Roush Yates motors (they love to squeeze out that extra hp). Wood Bros will also have a fast car. RGM will have to be spot on to make the field. I'm sure RG and the team know what they have to do. If RG makes the race I look for good things. Just gonna be a nail bitter getting into the show.
But keep in mind this is the FIRST PLATE RACE that RG has had to qualify his way in ( 2011 ) , so the prep, setup , etc.. will be MUCH DIFFERENT than the previous 'locked in' races they had. All the other plate q efforts just throw them in the garbage, they are night & day to this weekends prep.
I totally understand. Plus Hornish & Bliss qualified for RG at the last 2 plate races. I was just saying this will be the toughest challenge for RG all year as far as qualifying goes. I have a feeling they'll pull it off.

I also heard one team comment this will be a huge race for teams outside the Chase contenders to see how the new packages work for the Daytona 500. If they're able to limit the 2-car tango, they will use the same rules at Daytona
How could it be testing for Daytona. Fuel injection will be new and teams at that end of the points (except Joe) will not have tested.
Testing the packages for drafting...packs? 2-car tangos? or several small packs? noone knows until they get out there and see.

Fuel Imjection won't effect that part, mainly the fuel mileage
FI will have a much bigger impact on a track like Martinsville. Throttle response and MPG are the big differences. Daytona will be WOT all the way around. keep in mind this isn't state of the art direct injection, but more of a throttle body like an 80's Astro van
except the injectors will be in the intake runners , not umbrella throttle body style.Still the point being a change. The front bumps and rear spoiler's aren't changing, hence no change in the 2x2 thing.
When was the last time RG had to qualify his way in for a plate race (being outside the Top 35)?
2006 Daytona
DANG! That's over 5 years. Hopefully the wind tunnel test notes & package will be solid when they hit the track
I was think'n 05 (Daytona, start up year)
