I'm playing golf at 2:00 tomorrow, 65 and sunny in Raleigh. But I am from Buffalo, I feel for you guys. We always used to drink and play poker during snow storms.

I learned that lesson 20 years ago.
Generator + Power Transfer Switch = No more cold nights and spoiled food.
Cost: around $500 installed (+ generator)

Exactly. If you live in a area where outages occur somewhat frequently the system will pay for itself the first year.
