Guess this doesn't surprise me.

Robby and Speed Energy will be a formidable force at the Dakar in 2012 with VW gone !!!! The amount of exposure he is about to get , will roll over to all the racing programs at RGM . Not to mention what it will do for his Speed Energy Drink brand !!/p>
Robby is not the #2 drivefr for Dodge, who ever drives the 22 would be.
The firing of Toonces does nothing to help RGM. Only thing that helps RGM is more money to build a better race team.
You missed my point, If you look at all the Dodge ads with Nascar it has Kurt Busch as the focal point. Brad making the Chase this year and Kurt gone will make him the new face of Dodge. Ragan will be a 1 year deal, he will get his opportunity to prove his worth, but I don't see Shell / Pennzoil or Dodge dumping money into him. It will be a wait and see approach, just like Penske. This will allow the opportunity for Dodge to call on Robby more for appearances, promotions and visibility to promote the Dodge brand. So yes, I do think for the time being (Daytona) he will be the #2 guy for Dodge in 2012.
Check out the www.dodgemotorsports.com website, even their Nascar banner is the #22 car.
I also don't put it past a hungry David Ragan pulling off the upset and winning the Daytona 500 either. Penkse always has good plate cars and Ragan should have won Daytona and backed it up by winning the summer race. Ragan knows how slim sponsorship is to find and having a 1 year deal to drive for Penske with Shell / Pennzoil will be a great opportunity. Wouldn't suprise me if he doesn't pull a Jamie McMurray and have a stellar year knowing his future is on the line. (Ever notice when Jamie Mac is auditioning for a ride he's all world, but once he gets a contract he's below average)...
If Sam doesn't get the #22, Reutimann is a better fit for the Penske culture. I can't see Roger taking in another Roush cast off in Ragan.
I agree. How long can a guy live off "potential"? Ragan has had plenty of time to shit or get off the pot. He simply hasn't produced in a top notch ride.
Sam and Reutimann had their chances and both failed. Why should anyone expect anything different in comparable equipment?
Some days I just shake my head with the ideas that members of this forum have. What are you smoking?
A. Kurt Busch being out of the #22 car will have no effect what so ever on Robby.
B. I know Sam Hornish has a lot of fans on this forum, but as a stock car driver he just isn't ready for prime time. Maybe next year.
C. The rumors tend to point to David Ragan as the next driver of the #22 car. Makes sense to me too. David Reutimann and Brian Vickers are ho-hum drivers and don't deserve a ride in the #22.
D. I can't help but wonder where the Kurt Busch will end up? The guy can drive, but what an A hole to have to deal with. He may not find much of a ride for this season. I wonder what he would think about driving a car like the #71 next year?
Well they "KBM" said a while back they were going to the Nationwide series so if they need a full time driver one just became available.
Kurt gives his explanation with a video on www.kurtbusch.com ... his PR team is working overtime on damage control...it seemed very scripted and fake. You can almost see Kurt boiling as he thanks Penske and others.
What a Dbag he and the website page are. The apology is total BS.
