ALL TALK AGAIN!!!
@Tim, Jesse had one hell of a Baja 1000. He fought hard to maintain course position.IMO
Discovery's 'show' ,Jesse had a valid point.let's ride'm.Bikes are for riding ,not art.
The first thing I look at on a bike (and I've looked at thousands) is the weld quality. Take a close look at the hi-res photos of Jr's creation. The guy can't weld for shit and relies too heavily on CNC or a flow-jet. Jesse is a true craftsman from the old school and his bikes are actually rideable.
The Teutil's stuff is what it is: all CAD-CAM and best suited for display in a corporate headquarter lobby.
WJM, very well put. Somebody tell me how in the hell does OCC and OCC Jr. creations have anything to do with "American Chopper"...they are not hand made, hand welded, pieces of sheet metal and steel. Jessie's bike is a "American Chopper"... hand made.I was really hoping for those dorks to build real "Choppers".....
The Teutul's buy 90% of a build from catalog pieces and modify. Have you ever seen Junior or Senior using a shrinker, power hammer, or English wheel? Here's part one of the "Metal Church" mini-series with Jesse showing why he is one of the best fabricators on the planet.
Ha Nick turned me on to these shows.....I had never seen them. Pretty cool
From what I have heard and seen with myself he doesn't talk much about kicking peoples asses in Baja. I think he knows where he stands in the dirt.
But he had a great run at the 1000 this year, and won over all at a 300 mile race in Texas. His program is getting better and better as are his skills behind the wheel.
All that being said......his bike should have won, hands down.......have fun trying to ride PJD's bike.
