Charlotte, NC - Grabbing his third top-ten restrictor-plate finish of the 2008 season, Robby Gordon and his No. 7 Menards team look to carry their momentum to Charlotte, NC for this weekend's race.

Gordon says he has enough sponsorship to run the full NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule next season and has no interest in driving for anyone but himself. Gordon said Menards is among the sponsors coming back. Word is Polaris & Monster Energy Drink will also sponsor Gordon's team in some capacity. Jim Beam announced last November that it would sponsor Gordon through 2008 and has not yet announced its plans for 2009, but looks to make a decision at the end of the season.

Gordon has no agreement in place with any manufacturer next season, but looks likey to stay with Dodge. Gordon has a engine-leasing deal with Penske and seems very happy with his new motors. Robby was one of three Dodges to finish in the Top 10, but the only Penkse engine driver that finished problem-free. Both Ryan Newman & Kurt Busch experienced engine problems at Talladega, and Sam Hornish failed to qualify.

Indications are Robby will have another team operating out of his shop next season, no word if this would be a 2nd RGM team, alliance with another Cup team or merger. Gordon was tight lipped on any details.

Gordon is confident heading into this weekend's race. "We had two really good days of testing last month. We posted the 13th fastest overall speed. We went there with our latest chassis / geometry and learned a lot," said Gordon. The guys at the shop have been working extremely hard to build and improve on this latest spec. The car seemed to be real good in both qualifying and race trim, and we have made even more improvements since the test."

"Everyone takes their best equipment to Charlotte because everyone wants to win at their home track. We feel that we have one of our best race car on the truck and can't wait to unload it for this weekend's race. I am confident that we have another great finish. Every point counts as we near the end of the season, and this weekend is another chance to spread the points gap," Gordon commented.

Gordon will drive the #7 Menard's Dodge this weekend.

That would be great.
How about Boris Said!
How about Boris Said? What he say??? No Fear vs. Monster, don't think that would work. As for PK, he is really good at qualifying. And if he could learn to finish races, would be interesting. I think AJ would be good too.
AJ Allmendinger would be perfect but I think AJ will have better deals on the table than what RGM can offer. Plus AJ would have to bring money and the only money he would have would be Red Bull....which won't happen.
get AJ, and get Monster to step up for a good kick in the nuts to Red Bull-but back to reality, don't know if these two could work together, they almost seem one in the same, could be really good, or turn into a pissing match rather quickly
Would be cool, but I think AJA can get better, more solid offers.
no fear and monster are both coke products, no problem there.
Both Coke? Nope when I had my SoBe No Fear Energy Drink deal it was all backed by Pepsi. Pepsi bought into South Beach Beverage Company aka SoBe around 2000-01 A matter of fact because SoBe is part of the Pepsi line up and and because No Fear partnered with SoBe, No Fear got shot down on allot of their promo ideas and how they thought they should market the drink. No Fear wanted a Camo colored can for one flavor and Pepsi shot it down as being to military. They thought with all that was going on is the world that going Camo might be objectable to the masses. Pepsi is rather conservative compared to other drink manufactures.

Also No Fear bought their own tour bus to take to different events. Pepsi had nothing to do with it and because of that No Fear painted the bus black, red and chrome. Inside it looked like a strippers paradise. There was a polished chrome pole. Yes they had girls dancing in the back of the bus. I was told by insiders with No Fear that they wished they had not ened up signed with Pepsi as the No Fear image has not been promoted the way they originally wanted.

Just look at how AMP is promoted. With Dale Jr they look squeaky clean. When No Fear started their drink they went for the Motocross freestyle lifestyle aka Metal Mulisha guys. They were badder then Monster. Hell when they supported my Off-road program I was to clean looking for No Fear. My contact rep at No Fear was fully sleeved and had a Mohawk! Yes a freaking Mohawk!

And as far as Monster is concerned they are owned by Hanson's Natural Soda's in Corona CA. They are distributed by Anheuser Busch.
