STAGE 1 TRACKING

STAGE 1: Mar Del Plata > De La Pampa

Connection 763km | Special Stage 57km | Total 823km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The seaside resort of Mar del Plata brings to mind lazing around, especially after the competitors have mingled with the crowd during the public presentation ceremony on 31st December. For the short warm-up special stage, they will nevertheless be allowed to pass by the seafront, where the small dunes to be crossed will represent the first hurdle. In this simple exercise, the fastest time will establish a first winner and determine each competitor's position in the rankings. After this challenge, there will be a long liaison section to be covered to Santa Rosa de la Pampa.

Wow, anybody besides RGM having this problem????

TeamDakar GB had all their gear, spares, and tools stolen while they were at scrutineering. They have bikes and helmets but that's it.

Hey TOG!!

Does anybody know what is on the 2nd truck?

Anything that may be a showstopper if they break something?

Good ole RG luck.. o well, im sure it will be fine

TeamDakar will work on this and make some adjustments and make it work. That is one of many strengths of this group....

Let us hope. We know they are good at coming back from setbacks.

Any word on what happened with Quinn's bike? I saw something on facebook about "the bike got lost"....is everything okay there?

After his big pre-race scare, after his Honda motorcycle was shipped by air from the USA to Peru by mistake, American Quinn Cody has started the rally in a spectacular fashion, climbing to a provisional third place in the GC of the 2012 Dakar. Since the last time check, positions have changed behind the Top 3, with López and Coma at the helm. The American's no. 9 Honda, currently in third, is immediately followed by the KTMs of Kuba Przygonsky (POL) and Ruben Faria (PRT). Cyril Despres lies seventh, ahead of Portugal's Hélder Rodrigues (Yamaha) and Paulo Gonçalves (Husqvarna).

Showing 4th now.
