Robby Gordon & Nasser Al Attiyah Dakar Stage 1 Quotes
ROBBY GORDON - " We were setting a fast pace until we saw Nasser stopped at the side of the special's course, less than 2 km from here, and I stopped to tow him. This has cost us some time, but I am especially concerned about him. We will make the exact diagnosis at the bivouac, but his car simply refuses to start. Perhaps there is a problem with the oil pressure, the petrol... I do not know."
NASSER AL ATTIYAH - " We had an engine oil pressure loss and preferred to wait for Robby to tow us to the finish, since we did not want to damage the engine... We will see, but this does not look good... And, whatever happens, this is not a good way to start the Dakar! "
additional quotes will be added here.
UPDATE:

Patients....it's a long race and Robby has the best crew with him. We all knew it was going to be a transition for Nasser jumping into the Hummer. Tog....keep up the good work!
Nasser, caught on to the Hummer quick. He was quicker than Robby to the 1st check point ;-)
Super Cool! The best thing for Robby to go fast is to not have to worry about the rest of his team. I sure Nasser is happy with the speed in the the Hummer as well. They will get it fixed-up and settle-in to a good pace together. It would have been nice to be trouble-free on the 1st stage, but oh well....it's a long race and we'll be fine.
The mini's were not dominant....just plentiful......
I would like to hear Robby say ".....just cruising.....""
I don't want to hear that....it's usually followed by disaster. : o
Ms Gibby is right, please Robby don't say it.
Racing happen's,Nasser made a great choice(s) By not blowing it up (putting a hole in the block) they'll fix it.Nasser has talent, it's only day one.Two more weeks of racing, don't throw in the towel.
Exactly right Mike. Nasser made a good choice not trying to finish with no oil pressure. So close to the finish, i wonder if Robby should have won the stage then went back to tow (if thats allowed). Probably would have only cost Nasser another 4 or 5 minutes.
Please add $80 million. Presto! Reliability achieved.
