COURSE OVERVIEW

 

The competitors will have an early start and a long way to go to join the start of the special stage. But the pace that the drivers will have to keep up on the first very fast part of the route will immediately ensure that they remain extremely focused. After the big, fast bends negotiated on firm ground, the entrance in a backdrop of dunes will significantly slow down their progress. In Nihuil, the grey-coloured sand bears witness to the intense volcanic activity which occurred in the region several thousand years ago.

great job by RGM today!

I watched the coverage on Versus last night and the show is much better than last year. I was really impressed, I suggest that everyone watch it, it's just straight up Dakar without any annoying segments. I hope they keep it up.

This Robby/Nasser thing is an amazing story in the making. NBC would do well to kick off their takover of coverage by not burying it at midnight. The great RGM story would boost their ratings and help DAKAR exposure in theUS. A couple hundred planet e-mails to nbc might do it. We want prime time!
