It's got an AZ license plate because its easy to get any vehicle license'd in AZ compared to most states

Thanks for the info. Yes, AZ is not too bad for "special" registration. I live in Pinal County 50 miles south of Phx. No requirement to emission test anything! Yea baby!

Rain can cause a sloppy course which is rough on 2WD. Also, rain may take away some of the sand advantge from RG and NA. However, I agree with DesertX....if the wet crust is thin, it might get tricky & deceptively inconsistent. I still give advanatge to hummer.

No rain & dry course woud be ideal for tomorrow.

Fingers crossed! Go RG and NA!

Great find man!

Great to hear he is still upbeat after some trials early. He sounds supremely confident in the car, and in both drivers, which is really great to hear!! Petrol ON!!

From the DAKAR website

Modification of the Car/Truck Route

Due to the heavy rain that fell on the provinces of La Rioja and Catamarca, the start of the stage for cars and trucks has been moved to the 24 km point, shortening the stage by this distance. As a result, the cars will set off on the link stage 30 minutes later. The first car, driven by Stephane Peterhansel, yesterday's winner and new leader of the general standings, left Chilecito at 6.45 AM local time. A total of 138 cars feature on the list of starters.

right to the sand

And they're off in stage 5

#302 toyota of terranova has withdrawn from the race

Any reason given for the dropout?
