At this point I'll bet those folks at Chrysler/Jeep are kicking themselves for not working with the Speed Energy Team convert the Hummers to Jeeps. Opportunity missed.

Yeah but the company that was bailed out no longer exist. Now it's all FIAT money. If the powers that be at FIAT wanted their Jeep/Mopar/Dodge/Ram name out there on the international Rally Raid circuit it'd be there with funding, equipment & management second to only the Ferrari F1 team.
Now that I think of it, Iveco currently holds all 3 podium spots for the Truck category, and well they are a FIAT brand.
Jeep Cherokee, Dodge Durango, Maserati Kubang are the 3 SUVs they have in their lineup now. Hey maybe they can find a way to make this fit within the rules, even the paint is only a shade or so off from being the right color.
if 'all' mean's 58.5% ownership.Majority maybe?
Oh man, the Lancia Stratos. What a car. So much history in rallying. Markuu Alen, how are you doin' dude?
I agree that if they wanted it out there it would either be there now, or be in the works now. I just dont see it happening, but I dont know...its my opinion. Im not saying they wont make an attempt I just dont think RG will be involved
Man I have been a fan of maserati for years but I was hoping for a little more from the Kubang, to me....they pretty much ripped of Infinitis FX line, and a little porsche in there too. I wanted to see something different and new. I know that had nothing to do with the rally, sorry lol.

The only difference between the Mas Kubang & the Durango/Cherokee is the body.
Mark McMillin was in a Cherokee this year (though I'm pretty sure it didn't have any factory support) and he was out of the Rally on Stage 3 with a blown head casket.
I have no idea how the Ram is doing (though also it's not factory supported AFAIK) but it's not listed on the Withdrawl & not listed in the Overall standings on the Dakar website (unless I'm missing it).
