STAGE 7 TRACKING

STAGE 7: Copiapo > Copiapo

Connection 154km | Special Stage 419km | Total 573km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The loop will be the biggest challenge of the week, although the beginning of the special stage, which will travel along tracks in the middle of the hills and cacti, might appear easy. But afterwards, the strain of the kilometres covered since Mar del Plata will begin to take their toll, exactly at the time when a great number of dunes will follow one after another. The last string of dunes to be crossed, so near and yet so far from the finish, may well resemble a bivouac which has been transported to the middle of the desert. Thankfully for the latecomers who pitch their tents, the regulations allow vehicles to be presented until 6 pm on the rest day.

Great finish going into the rest day...well, not for the crew. Major maintenance tonight and tomorrow.

A lot of time to make repairs, and high morale to keep the team going!! Can't say enough good things about Team Speed!

Yes, I imagine morale is sky-high right about now. And good morale can do great things for a team.

It's nice to see another 1-2 finish......BUT, I sure wish it was the orange hummer with a stage win.

Love it - Hummers at the front!! Robby is great shape - focus on the overall race finish. Want to see both on the podium at the end. This has been AWESOME!!

Both Hummers are converted Class 1 cars with a Hummer body added. They are rear engine not mid engine.

Yes, these Hummers could not be more rear-engined if they tried. The whole mass of the engine sits behind the rear wheels.

Are they running Mindola (sp) boxes?

Check in with a cracker dry "That A Way". More racing see you guys Monday morning.

Albin

Tehy are rear engines with Albi 5 speed TRans

Kevin, I'm a little confused here it was my understanding that RGM built the cars from the ground up so while they are rear engined are they not rgm products? or are they a purchased chassie converted to where they are now?Other than them being rear engined they seem to differ greatly from the other class 1 cars I've seen.
