STAGE 7: Copiapo > Copiapo
Connection 154km | Special Stage 419km | Total 573km
COURSE OVERVIEW
The loop will be the biggest challenge of the week, although the beginning of the special stage, which will travel along tracks in the middle of the hills and cacti, might appear easy. But afterwards, the strain of the kilometres covered since Mar del Plata will begin to take their toll, exactly at the time when a great number of dunes will follow one after another. The last string of dunes to be crossed, so near and yet so far from the finish, may well resemble a bivouac which has been transported to the middle of the desert. Thankfully for the latecomers who pitch their tents, the regulations allow vehicles to be presented until 6 pm on the rest day.

Quinn is being followed mainly by non Argentina people so Speed logos are OK with RG. Robby is almost a National Hero in Argentina.
Almost untill day 15.............
Does anyone know where I can find info on the stages to come. I would lik eto read about the stages and know what is coming up
And to prove where my thinking is I am wanting to put a face to the narrator from the video WJM posted. sounds like a spokespersons dream voice. Now back to the action
thanks for the link but that doesnt give me detailed information on all the remaining legs. I can go look at the next days and read up on it but I cant on the other legs. I saw it somewhere.
Thank you that is what I was looking for
Okay I'll admit it, I'd rather chat than analyze. The Planet is full of comments such as, "This terrain will be good for the Hummers." I've gathered that the sand is good for the Hummers, but then can be tricky if the sand gets too steep and soft.
So what about the remaining six stages? Do you think we can estimate outcomes based upon the stage descriptions provided in the link above?
Of course we are Robby and Nasser fans here at the Planet, and of course our boys WILL finish one and two. So perhaps the way to state the assessment would be as; "This will be a good stage to gain on Peterhansel, or a tough day."
I think that when the course gets tight and technical the Minis (primarily Peterhansel) are faster. So maybe the terrain descriptions are helpful, but too general, and do not provide enough info to create much of an assessment.
What do you think?
Go Team Speed! Great day today!
I always get uneasy when I see the Soil/Stones terrain as that's where we seem to be the most susceptible to flats. No flat tires = good result.
Your right, its the half buried ones ( N-Heads) that will cause the most problems with wheels, tires, suspension and poorly designed tire hold down assemblies.
