STAGE 8 TRACKING

STAGE 8: Copiapo > Antofagasto

Connection 245km | Special Stage 477km | Total 722km

COURSE OVERVIEW

At this stage of the competition, the number of contenders for the title will be reduced to a small handful in each category. But despite the significant number of kilometres to be covered, this first stage after the rest day should not be relied on to create decisive gaps. The rally's longest special stage will be used to allow the competitors to get back into the pace of the competition. On the stone-covered tracks which will lead to Antofagasta, the pace will be rather intense, but this will not prevent the drivers from catching sight of some magnificent views.

Remember that NASCAR does not control their website, it's all done by Turner Sports Interactive (same people that do the NBA, NCAA & PGA websites).

In other rallying news Robby best have gotten that Qatar money upfront. Supposedly they promised North One Sport's (WRC promoters up until earlier today) millions of dollars but then backed out at the last second which has now caused N.O.S. to shutdown and force the FIA to look for new promoters for the WRC.

This was on the page today! Piss me off! The title was

NASCAR did make mention of it and had a photo gallery from this year:

Can't be a public figure and not to be as charming as RG is , that's way he's so popular here in South America and he could not pick a better teammate to run this Dakar . if you ask here for some of the names of the south american drivers people will struggle to name them , but will tell you right away everything about RG or Nasser :) Personaly i will like to see them bury the Minis and climb to the podium this dakar.

That's why Jayski is the site.

Thanks. I forgot about jayski

and Jayski is a member of the Planet

Anyone know if they will be selling the SPEED T-shirts I see Robby wearing? I guess they are the team shirts.
And Jayski is posting after every stage.....that's where the reliable NASCAR news is anyway. Thanks Jayski for keeping Robbys name out there.

nascar.com used to follow robby in dakar, I guess they stopped caring.

Again I will agree with u Ben. Too bad NASCAR has gone the direction it has. And they wonder why their attendance and tv ratings are dwindling.

If Robby wins this event it will be much bigger than any event he could win in Nascar. They will report it! and exploit it!

He has worked hard for this and is a great story so far
