STAGE 9 TRACKING

STAGE 9: Antofagasto > Iquique

Connection 9km | Special Stage 556km | Total 565km

COURSE OVERVIEW

A two-part stage will keep the competitors busy who continue the climb to the north of the continent, between oceans and mountains. Two sections separated by a neutralization are on the agenda with varied features and landscapes. At the beginning of the day, the competitors will pass through canyons, drive on clean tracks and sink in the fesh fesh?! The second special stage will call upon the drivers' and co-drivers' navigational talents, who will have to make a decision based on the very limited landmarks, while remaining focused on the WPM. To reward them for this intensive endeavour, they will drive down the steep descent to Iquique, already featured on the 2010 Dakar route, to the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

must be scoring error 90+ bikes hit W4 but only 6 hit W3 none of the quads hit W3

Can someone else get in the 300 and drive as a support vehicle.
I know they will not be timed but for support it would be good.

Bob is in the area.

Guess nobody wants to talk to me today.
Can I borrow that towel that got thrown in?

I hope RGM gets paid.

No idea what the support rules are. It would be fun to go down as support crew for a team though.

I don't think driver changes are allowed, and once a vehicle resigns the race, then it can't be on the course anymore. Let's hope Nasser at least tries to limp through the stage and is willing to be the water carrier for the rest of the race. It doesn't seem like his style, but we can hope.

You are right that driver/Nav changes can not be done without being dq'ed but can the change and just use the 300 as a support car?
I do not think so but just asking in case someone knows for sure.

Thanks.

Robby up 2:55 over PHansel at WP4... Looks good so far.

Gordon still rolling by WP5. Up 5:58 over Roma.

Did Peter get another flat? He was only 2:11 down to RG at WP5, but neither he or Holowczyc have appeared at CP6 yet.

Never mind, just the page not showing them yet. 00:02:20 on Peter, 4:25 on Holo, 4:56 on Roma on CP6.

Yesterday Peterhansel got a flat and said he was trying to take it easy on the portion that was conducive to flats.
I would say he stayed rather even with Robby from wp5 to wp6 becaues they both took it easy through there for this same reason and the 2 minis behind them have nothing to loose and drove hard thus gaining a minute each.
