COURSE OVERVIEW
The dunes are majestic in this part of the country. They will ensure suspense to the very end about who will be the winners and how they will be placed on podium. At the same time, the drivers who are less in a hurry must take nothing for granted even if they are beginning to think about the relief of reaching the finish. They will also have to negotiate a significant number of strings of dunes, avoid confusing valleys which appear to be similar but are in fact different, and fight off the inevitable fatigue after the thousands of kilometres covered. Here every one of the competitors will remember what extreme endurance means here.

4 + minutes on everyone else so far; GO ROBBY!!!
GO ROBBY!!!!!!! Show them french mini skirts what real race cars are and how americans can get the lead out!!!!!
Team orders... Robby is fast but the press will say the minis are cruising and conceding the order ... Just venting .. just have a feeling on how the rest of the rally press will play out.
Well that's about the deal. Peter and Roma don't have any reason to press that hard. In no other race does the old adage "to finish first you must first finish" hold more true than Dakar. The Toy in 3rd...same thing. Just go steady and hope somebody falls.
After yesterday Rob better take as much advantage of the situation as he can. He opened his mouth up wide enough to fit both feet inside. A pair of sandy shoes tastes pretty bad. He'll look the man if he wins out. He'll look the fool if he doesn't.
Who r u? You seem to not like Robby?
Who am I? I'm a card carrying Planet member. But I'm also a realist and nothing I said isn't the plain and honest truth.
SLYFOX yes just being a realist.... nothing was negative. just honest and how it will play out.
Who cares how the press spins it . . . let the numbers speak
Lets hope the extra time lost at cp1 by nov and roma was to stop and try to help peterless but they started again because he is done.
Crap there he is 2nd
16:52 Cars: CP1: Gordon surges ahead
The American crossed CP1 with a total time of 1 h 12'28' for the first 117 kilometres. Giniel De Villiers was third, 8'41' back. These two drivers are battling it out for the bottom step of the overall podium, with the South African gaining the upper hand so far. Nani Roma posted the second best time, 7'30' behind the Hummer, while Leonid Novitskiy was fourth, 8'58' back.
