Robby Gordon to race San Felipe SCORE race ?

Looking at the SCORE web site Robby will start 3rd .More dirt racing less Nascar ?

Should have photo shopped the MONSTER ENERGY out of the picture. It does look good carbon. At least the dash and scoop for the coolers are natural carbon finish full time.

Travel is not a problem for the Hummer Mexico, it's the stock motor they have to run for Dakar that really hurts it. Robby has raced the Hummer twice down in Mexico. He used the Baja 500 last year as a shake down for Dakar and even though he was down on power compared to the other trucks in the TT class, he figured he would have a good chance of winning because he could run the whole race on one tank of fuel. He ended up finishing in 5th because of flat and I believe a wrong turn somewhere that cost him some time. Everytime I say him though he had the Hummer wide open and flying across the desert. The other time the Hummer was in Mexico was a few years ago and he had Bob (his dad) drive it, which resulted in DNF, because a class one car rearended him at about 80 mph and destroyed the back of it.

He also won Parker with it a couple years ago. He actually drove the Hummer from the Orange County shop to Parker, won the race, then drove it back home. That was all after it had just gotten back from Dakar. Only Robby could pull that shit off.

maybe not travel per say ,but shocks issues.Robby has stated he would be back (SanFalipe250) till they blade it.Well they didn't blade it and Robby's going back.Why? Finishing in the top 10 at SanFalipe guarantee's a top 10 start for the Baja 500 (regardless of the starting draw) and starting 3rd (SF) is the draw.Yes the whoops where a factor in taking the TT to SanFelipe,IMO
Why bring the Hummer? the TT can do this on one fuel load.

Supposedly the San Felipe course is going to be totally different than it has been in the past, with only Zoo road being the part of the old course they will use. Some friends went down there this week to pre run, so I will find out more when they get back.

There are two new washes that have never been used before...Cuevitas & Amarillas.
Cuevitas replaces the Three Poles section in the 1st half, Amarillas is a new one in the second half of race.
Better pre-run those for sure....rest is pretty much the same, just depends on which year or years you can remember.
Probably will get fuel at Morelia junction, just depends on tires, and a splash of fuel down in the lower section...not sure where yet.

It always fun when the course gets changed.....homework, homework, homework....or pre-run, pre-run, pre-run.
