Hi all,

I am trying to learn more about Robby's first stint as a car owner in 2000 when he owned the no.13 car. Can anyone please provide some insight as to how it all came to be, whether the was any significance with the number 13 and any other circumstances that you think are relevant?

I became a fan of NASCAR in 2001 and Robby in 2002, so it was all a bit before my time. But it's something that has always interested me, yet information on it is hard to find. It's the same with pictures, there aren't that many that I know of. Does anyone have any that they could share please?

Thanks for your help!

Ben.

The real Woody Woodpecker..RG used to have Woody Woodpecker on the back of the transporter and souvenir trailer.

Look on ebay you can still find the #13 Flinstones, Rockey & Bullwinkle, and Monster cars for sale.

is the indy car that was pictured on here the one from the 99 indy 500???? is so thats cool that he still has it. i would love to see him run that race just one more time!!!!!

Carson,
The car that is in the picture is a AAR Eagle chassis (Dan Gurneys All American Racers Chassis) from the 1998 CART season. As far as RG ever running the 500 again, I don't ever see him doing it, RG has not driven an open wheel car in a few years, I will never say he is to old, but father time is a cruel, cruel dude when it comes to modern day Indy. That said Indy is not like it was in the 70's and 80's when Mario, AJ, and Unser Sr were still competitive, now you just have a bunch of candy asses racing in all these series........they just don't make them like RG anymore
Yea i agree. i think he could still be competitive but his age is goibg against him. That was alot of fun watching him and stewart do the double. i rember watchin stewart take iv bags after the 600 one year and then the next one he hired a conditioning coach. and they say racing isnt a sport! Lol

He ran sponsorship from Turtle Wax and Burger King and Ingersoll Rand!! These same sponsors backed him in the Indy and he finished fourth, he ran at the Glenn with Sony and finished pretty high.

Those three plus menards duracell universal studios and cd2 engine treatment were always split up somewhere on the car. Woody was also found on the car laying on the menards text and beside rgs registered name script above the drivers entrance to the car. The 13 cars are still my favorite cars to date....the universal monsters scheme from fall charlotte and atlanta that year was great
