Robby HATED what NASCAR did to him with his motorola/verizon sponsorships he had many moons ago. So it comes as no surprise to allow anybody to play in his series. The long-term gains will trump any ego-driven "no you aren't allowed" campaign.
+1
Yup, KW basically called out the other sponsors to come play. I believe it was something to the effect of "we'll have a marketing competition too"
Rick Johnson has Red Bull on his hat, as does his son.
Robby did say that the trucks would be dyno'd for all to see
Rob seemed to be of the anyone can play mentality when he was getting towed and tossed ..........I suspect he's walking the walk.
Never any word on what its gonna cost. He said something about 30 trucks were gonna be built, but what would it cost for someone to buy a ride?
The numbers I heard were $375 to enter UTV class with 10/5/2k to top 3. No price on the trucks but 40k to the winner with a 500k payout to the 2013 season champ.
You get 3 bodies per race with your paint/sponsors. A limit of 2 crew members. Random draw for chassis and all trucks will be chassis dynoed on the spot to show they are all the same. You can change the shocks/springs/tires and pressure. Also the seat/pedals/steering locations are adjustable. Other than that it's on the driver.
Oh, also that the whole thing is designed to be tent based so over seas travel with the show will be easy.
Oh, and USAC sanctioning and management
So basically what he is trying to create is Dirt Truck NASCAR, its def. not a bad idea - just hope he can get the fan support to keep it going.
