Just a question for the more knowledgeable NASCAR people out on the planet. Let's say, just for laughs, that you had a shop the could handle the building of a NASCAR. You had all the necessary parts and pieces to do the giant undertaking that Dodge needs, but didn't have a major car sponsor. Dodge asks and throws some impressive cash at you and asks that you build the program for 2013. What would your company do? I think they would fly under the radar, clam up, build the program as the rumors fly and drop the bomb in mid July. I think the team is underway building and doing all the things they need to do this. What do you think...
I'm not the person you ask'd for, but. It's hard to keep a secret in the Charlotte area,so if you (Dodge) had a mystery team building cars, somebody is going to out the deal. There's only x number of vendors supplying parts.Lot's of teams can build almost every major hard part of a 'CUP' car,but there's still thing like fuel pumps that have to be a Na$crap approved part, fuel bladers, throttle bodys, ect ,you get the picture.
I believe the Italian's are still not sold on Na$crap, they might simply not have any money( especially for the Brian France payola scheme) Just my opinion.
What if it wasn't in NC or in the US? Some of these guys have connections beyond the border...And I think you are just the guy to ask Mike!
Roger has the ties to Illmor in England. That being said Menard Engines is also in England. And we all know how being throw into the deep end of the pool with a cast iron block tied around there necks went.(in all fairness 3 month lead time to build 800hp( at the time)push rod V-8's was alot to ask for) No, I don't think Fiat/Ferrari would be able to figure out push-rod V-8's.
TOG, hinted at things could get wilder with Penske/Roush-Yates engine deal.Well,Yes they could.
Think North Carolina, not Europe (they have no idea what a push-rod V-8 is)
fiat has the money. Their investment in F1 is way more than their investment in nascar. Also look at shell. Just as Robby pointed out shell is tied into dodge (fiat). That sponsorship may go with a new dodge team
I think F1 is giant money compared to NASCAR. F1 engines are between $6-8 million, tires are $8 million per year!
F1's reach is global with over a half billion sets of eyeballs watching every year.
I was agreeing with you....
Do the Italians like the French who in turn have a history with Mexico whom in turn have a love for Robby who in turn I would think has a rash from the French..................meat a ballz anyboddyy?
