NASCAR announced their testing schedule and the first test of the 2013 cars will be at 'dega next month. RG said earlier in the season that he was planning to run Daytona in 2013. So, does anyone know if that is still in his plans and if he will be at that test session? There are others listed later in October, will he have a car at any of them?

That sounds a little harsh, but my comment was inspired by the rhetoric of Planet Robby the past couple of months. If you haven't visited here lately well, I think it would be safe to say that perhaps Robby is through with NASCAR. At least as far as fielding his own equipment in a race. Thats just my opinion and I am just a fan on this website. I have no insider information.
I really doubt he will be testing any cup car any time soon. I would think for the 2013 Daytona 500, at best, would be 50/50. It would of course depend on what his sponsors would want to do.
Sweet, hes racing the 500 next year? RIGHT ON!!!!
Sarcasm alert
Earlier in the year he stated that he would be in Daytona. The thing about being there in 2013 is that the bodies of the cars will all have changed. I don't know about chasis, but I would suspect that they also will change since James Finch has stated that after this year all his cars would be scrap and he doesn't want to sink his own money into a new tooling for new cars. I would think if RG is going to do Daytona it would probably have to be as an extra entry for an established team.
Another way of saving the teams money? Without going into when the last time "These Guys" had a "New Chassis" introduced as the "Mandated State of the Art" it would seem that idealy it would be a system of many years you could be able to hang a new body on the cage and rails you have built. Not to mention big teams no longer being able to sell to lesser teams the "Rollers" they are no longer going to use. In a state of progression it would seem SST finalization, Dakar fully in the works, then Daytona. We made the race in an absolute text book case of irony with Michael Waltrip F'n up a transition back to the racing surface last Daytona. As it was. Then in a "For Bigger Minds Than Mine" turn of events were left in the race a substandard.....(it would seem). After missing the Glen my Robby in NASCAR balloon is nothing more than the equal to a ringed rubber snake put to full use laying in the dusty low light back lot of a modern day example of American Indusrial power. Long live hope and the bill for a BLT and pint of ale coming to $9.11.
The chassis will remain identical save for the addition of 3 bars.

Finch was just being his usual over-dramatic self, he's probaly backed up on the drama side because he can't fire his driver for not winning Happy Hour this year like he has pretty much every year over the past decade.
That "Red" bar has been in many late model type cars for years. We had one in a Fuge chassis back in the 80's and carried that into many future cars. The cup cars have not been, nor do they continue to be the most "advanced" cars out there. Lots of technology on how to work with what they have, but not always the best starting point.
Going to link that piece over to Randyayersmodeling.com. Can't say how many guys actually joined via my plug but here comes another...........and while I'm at it the SST vid as well. Some great stockcar models on the randyayersmodeling, literaly 1000's just keep digging. Oh and thank you for it.
