I learned to drive in my Dad's Jeep in the early 1960's at places like Glamis and Pismo Beach. There were no goverment rules about off road use in those days. When I turned 16 I got my own Jeep. BTW - Everyone pretty much had Jeeps then. Land Crusiers, Scouts, any kind of buggie, and even motorcycles were rare to see. Lots of the places I went are now closed to us. Kelso and Eureka Dunes, much of Pismo, and I could go on and on about places that we no longer can go.

You know what? I think most of the closures were a really good idea. Uncontrolled off roading has a way of destroying places and it was 100% out of control back then. Most everyone was drunk all the time as there were no rangers or cops to watch out for.

I am a California native and I am still here because I love the place. I have voted for Sen. Dianne Feinstein every time she has ran for office and I feel my state is a better place because of her

Totally agree that's probably why Sal is doing everything in Mex . Don't have to deal with them tree huggers down there .

Just asking, whats a tree hugger..............

Here's a few definitions I found online lol

hey friends do not deviate from the question .... please just tell me if you know something that Robby will run with Juan Carlos Lopez at # 18 or # 77 on your trophy ??

I'd say its a safe bet Robby will drive w Clyde as a shake down for Dakar in the Hummer . They already did the NORRA race and this will just add more wheel time

RG = 18TT for Baja 1000

Todd where are you finding this I've checked RDC , Dirt Newz , SCORE , and trophy truck and don't see any mention of anything ?

RPM Team member, press release not out yet.

mj, I really don't see RG running the Dakar this year with the time and cost involved. He has alot riding on the SST deal and it would seem his total focus on the new series would be time better spent. Az for which ride for the Mil? Spliting time with Juan Carlos wouldn't be a bad idea, a TT and possible overall win would be great for RG. In the Truggy he's had great success and if either of those rides are available to him why put out the resources needed to run the 77TT or the hummer? both the Truggy and the 18 TT run his brand and colors so it would seem either way is a win for RG and Speed. And as Kevin said "a SCORE championship would be nice"

From what Kevin posted, sounds to me like RG will help drive the #18TT to get a SCORE championship for SPEED Energy

So no Dakar at all ? Or Clyde by himself in Robby's hummer ? If not at all why did they do this at the NORRA race ?

Clyde Stacy (RPM Off Road) will be driving the H3 as a test for his DAKAR 2013 debut in Peru next January. Gordon will be chasing Stacy in the monstrous DAKAR style support truck and, according to Stacy, may take the wheel a day or two into the rally. Oh, and according to Robby at the drivers meeting, “I took the (pinche) restrictor off!”
