Vintage desert racing

Thought you other desert rats might enjoy this . Found it on YouTube just farting around . Videos description says its from the 79 Baja 1000 , 80 Baja 500 and 80 Mexicali 300 . All you bike guys will like it too lots of old school bikes in it . I only recognized one vehicle out of them all . Frank Vessels in his Blazer . Hope you all like it .

I disagree. Hendricks lets his guys race the Prelude to a Dream whenever they want to. I could see JJ in a SST painted in retro colors or Lowe's if that was the best way. I would bet that there is no one that Chevy would rather see in one of Robby's stadium Chevy trucks than Jimmie Johnson. Yes? No?

I'm thinking Mr H let's them do it for 2 reasons :

1 - it's NASCAR affiliated ( not directly but has NASCAR drivers and coverage )
2 - it's a charity event
Maybe Jimmie might do it as a 1 time deal but I can't see him doing a whole schedule . Plus I could see Chevy maybe taking some of the old Chevy Thunder drivers and doing something with them instead . 1st one that comes to mind is Ricky Johnson , since he was one of the drivers in the MTEG days , or maybe even Danny Thompson since it was is dad who created it and he also drove a Chevy in it .

off first is 5x then Rob Mac followed by Jimmy Smith then one of 3 Walker Evans trucks drivers included Walker, Steve Kelley, Scott Douglas, Larry Roeslear,Jack Johnson I think thats it for Walker then ( boy this one was tough) RG! another tough one Ivan then Jason Baldwin part of what would become a 3 truck effort including his dad Jim and brother in law Carl Renezeder next up the Simon Brothers and Larry Ragland in one of 2 Jon Nelson enteries, this is a cool one Marty Coyne in "Rosanne" a former Robby ride then Curt LeDuc and I think it's the RCR Plumbing entry I can't remember his name, Roger Mears then another Evans Dodge and John Swift in the Ranger then the 3rd Evans Dodge followed by a former Jon Nelson truck I hate I can't remember the drivers name but he was killed piloting one of his cargo planes............it was fun trying to put names to the trucks, so how'd I do??

Jimmie should of stuck to offroad like Ricky Johnson did . I have wayyyy more respect for Ricky than I do Jimmie even if Jimmie is mr 5x . In my eyes it's a hell of alot harder to win a SCORE championship than it is a NASCAR one .
Great video though loved seeing the old Turtle Wax scheme .
