Heres some pics of it

Just had to post here. My Wife just suprised me for my birthday.. (a little early) I now have in my hands the RG slash speed energy truck. This thing is so damn cool.. It's the first RC truck like this i've owned. I just got done spinning it around the yard cking it out a little bit (know it's full of dead grass....oops...lol).. At this point I'm going to have to read back thru this whole post to get some tips and I'm sure I'll be asking more questions as I learn all about this thing..

One questiong I do have.. How long does a charge on that battery usually last?

Welcome to the world of RC and congrats you have a great wife lol . On average you should get 15-20 mins on a pack . The best thing to do is invest in 3-4 packs and cycle them as you run . I've posted all that info before on here so I'm sure you'll find it . HAVE FUN and again CONGRATS . If you need anymore help just ask . Here's a post I put up back in march
Actually 20 mins is about average for Nimh / Nicad . One of the biggest reasons I tend to stay away from lipo is that very reason , you cant overcharge you can't drain it to far etc etc , it's a pain I'm the ass . I use a Novak IONIC Charger it's an AC/DC charger that does both Nicad and Nimh packs up to 8 cells , has a built in discharger for conditioning packs and automatic cutoff when the pack is charged . They don't make this one anymore but know that the Onyx 235 and 240 do the same thing . When the pack is fully charged it cuts off to a trickle charge . You do STILL have to monitor it when charging LiPos . Another good pick would be the new Traxxas EZ PEAK PLUS Charger its AC/DC powered , does up to 6 cell LiPos and up to 15 cell Nimh and Nicad packs . It also has a balancing port for LiPos , cooling fan and comes with Traxxas connectors already installed . That's around $ 110.00

hey.. thanks for the info.. I work from home so during my lunch today i took it back in the yard and played for a while with the neighbor. Yes i did kind a beat on it a little and gave it a few of it's first scratches... yeah i rolled a couple times...lol. Also had a small dirt pile from diggin a a hole.. so we smacked with a a shovel a couple times and whala.. had a ramp! I gotta tell ya.. i was like a little kid full of giggles and smiles having so much fun.

Glad I could help and glad your having fun with it just don't go nuts with it like this lol

In all seriousness bud have a blast with it . Next step is to get the wife her own truck lol

Wife? Hell it's my 14 yr old I'm fitting with.. lol.. The wife and I are already talking about picking a truck for him.

That's cool did you see in the posts that your speed control can be turned down to 1/2 throttle for beginners ( although at 14 he shouldn't have to ) . In fact he might like something a little faster . I'd suggest an Associated SC10 its more of a race truck than yours . Lower center of gravity , better shocks , faster motor , etc .
