Will their be a chance to see Robby run the Dakar? If so will Johnny Campbell be navigator again, I think Johnny and Robby work very well with eachother and it would be fun to watch them take on Dakar one more time.

Interesting thread - wondering what RG is going to do is becoming a full time job around here.

FWIW (not much - I get it) - I'm still pretty bitter over the tire deflation drama from last year. I'm not a big fan of the governing body and the subjectivity of their opinion. Something is either in the rules and allowable or it's not. (I haven't read them all - but, the decision on RG's systems should have been fairly easy to make)

As for RG driving in Dakar....if he doesn't go with a rig similar to the hummer, he would be at a disadvantage given all the experience he has in that type of vehicle.

This will be fun to watch.

The French have a habit of changing rules to suit their own countryman.

Just the same, I hope Robby finds some sponsorship for this race. Shouldn't the equipment be on a ship by now anyway? I can't remeber when that deadline was last year but I do remember one support truck not being offloaded in time.

I don't know if anyone has talked about this yet but I just went to the dakar.com website and you would not even know that Robby competed in the race last year at all. Not one picture, not one mention of his name, he has been completely removed from stage victories. I may be looking in the wrong places, but I can't find one mention of Robby Gordon anywhere. Maybe I'm wrong but my opinion as of right now is that the French are not going to let Robby compete. At least not in a Hummer.......................Can someone prove me wrong about my findings on the Dakar.com website please?

Is this it ?????????

http://www.sbs.com.au/dakar/results/index/v/cars/

thats old but the Dakar sight nixed him due he was I an official Disqual............................I ...Me thinks

No its the dakar.com sight. Finally did find a few photos in some of the individual stage photos, but no mention of his name anywhere.

The link is right here:
http://www.dakar.com/dakar/2012/us/rider/robby-gordon.html

Shows what he raced up until stage 9 when he was disqualified, so it shows no results after that.

The french will let him compete if he pays the entry. He is on the elite list, which all get preferred treatment.

January will be busy here.

That sound great! Just a knee jerk reaction by me I guess.....Sorry
