Robby Gordon #315 - Stage 4 Quotes
"We started off second and we got through some really gnarly, silty stuff. We went over a dune and it was just straight down with one right end to it. We idled into it just enough to tip us over the front, honestly, five miles an hour probably, it wasn't a big rollover. Except it put all the weight of the vehicle on the front, broke the windshield and flopped it on its roof and we had to wait for new radiators to get to us. It was a long wait."
"It's been a disappointing rally for us; we expected so much more. The first day I was too conservative and this dune I went over just a little too much, so we can't find a happy medium I guess. The rollover was honestly five miles an hour. It stood on the top for a while and I thought it was going to come backwards, but it just flopped over. It wasn't that dangerous except for the fact that we were on the other side of the dune. It was probably five to seven minutes before Peterhansel got there, so we'd already put some gap on him, but that doesn't do us any good now."
"You know, we just needed to have a good day today. I don't know what's going wrong… Like I said, we've just had a horrible rally so far this year. I don't see a bright side coming, because it's going to be a long ten days. Last year we were so good most of the rally and this year we started off conservatively like I did last year and it's just been unfortunate. We haven't been able to put it all together."
"We've got the team, we've got the cars, but I guess the drivers are making mistakes. It's just unfortunate. I think we're going to have sit back and see if it really makes sense to continue or not."

Pressure is off and the overall is probably out of sight unless everyone else falls in a crater. So. Have fun and win some stages.
Rob don't throw in the towel, that's why most here are your fans, you face adversity by kicking it in the balls! Gas On! win some stages! outlast the buggly's!
Doubt you will find anyone wanting RG to toss the towel. Funding what it is (tight) unfortunately, it may be more of a business decision than a racing one. I for one look forward to the days race recap for Rob. Can't wait til the afternoon when I can check it out and talk with friends about the days stage and what's to come. Hell, I wish we had a DAKAR a few times a year so I could watch RG. Gas on Robby!
Robby needs to relax and drive the Hummer like he drove Clyde Stacey's RPM Truggy all last year. He can't quit, it's not in his blood. He also needs to roost Peckerhandfull's Mini at least once in each rally. I don't think he has accomplished that yet. LOL
Robby, you are there, and you love to race. You came to win, but you also came to race. If you are in good enough shape to win a stage, then stay, race, and win a stage! You've said it yourself that there is nothing like the Dakar. Us at home can see how beautiful the dunes are and how the race course is nothing but open space at times - especially in the dunes.
I don't think you are there for business/brand/exposure reasons alone. Sure business is a part of life, but you are a racer of interest mostly because we love watching you do, what you love to do. It does help that you are pretty damn good at it too!
Enjoy what's left of the Dakar for you and the team. Gas On!
After the way things have gone, I can certainly forgive Robby for speaking as he did.
But if anything, the guy's got spirit, and I fully expect that we'll see it bubble to the top again tomorrow.
There are plenty of other drivers in the Dakar who race simply to be there, so...Onward !
So now is the time for all to give the folks a shout out.... Planet are you awake?
so this is what I put out on my twitter, what you got peeps
