STAGE 6 TRACKING

STAGE 6: ARICA > CALAMA

Connection 331km | Special Stage 454km | Total 785km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The first special stage held in Chile will take competitors back to the Atacama Desert: they will be faced with sand and dunes for two thirds of the distance. But two specific sections of the stage will be timed: the latter will allow them to rediscover fesh fesh, which is unlikely to enthuse them. Overall, the day will be very long, at a stage where the competitors’ bodies will start to suffer from the lack of sleep, particularly for those who have experienced some incidents. At the head of the race, a ranking which is already probable is taking shape: the real candidates for the Top 10 are apparent.

thanks jaci. just arrived home also

Does anyone know what overall place Robby is in currently? Yesterday I think it was 27th.

23d. 3hrs behind the 339

I think it's too early to tell other cars are still coming in.

He started today 36th overall and I would guess will end the day 28th or 29th.

Major Altitude sickness tomorrow. I hope the hummer has what it takes at 3500m.

IMO, maybe if RG tells Nasser he is doing great with the buggly he will start to win some stages, just to finally get rid of the juju

ditto
this is not like the NASCAR Chase

Alibaba not having carlos will affect his mood... Alibaba will now have to think about nobody close around to save him.

One item to keep in mind on the buggies is that they are a FIA class buggy, where Gordon is an Open SCORE class. So there are likely a few differences in the builds based on that reason.

Plus the buggies were built using Nassar's experience with the Hummers which were built for Africa. So he likely made them a bit smaller in response to the needs of running in South America.

RG keep it up! You might not win this but 3 podiums in 6 starts says that you are someone to be reckoned. You just need to get that black cloud off you six!

Great pic of Walch sleeping on top of the hummer. Looks like before the stage. The poor lad did not get any sleep marking up the road book all night
