COURSE OVERVIEW
Trucks will have pride of place when the rally resumes, only competing in one of the two parts of the special stage, but they will have the rare privilege of setting off first. The stage’s profile with quick tracks will be favourable to specialists of torturous routes. In the other categories, as the distance has been doubled it will also allow for an additional, much more technical section, where, in particular, the drivers will negotiate the bends in the forest. They will have to watch out for trees, given that the rapid assistance trucks won’t have access to the route. The competitors will have to be extremely vigilant over the entire distance, which is, for all except for the bikers, the rally’s longest special stage.

I know the piece coming down is the air jack. Zoom in on the rear hud and look at the shaft. It looks to be bent/broken.
I knew he would be done from a mechanical issue. This is Dakar, you cant be just a great driver. You need to know your machine and be a mechanic and problem solver.
Looks like it could be similar to Robby wheel bearing/hub problem a few years back.
Sni,snif, my, snif,snif, bugly's a broke, snif,snif...tell'em I hit tree...snif, snif
That's the best photo I've seen so far.
Didn't Nasser claim that he'd never drive a Chevy-powered car again (as well as Hummer and anything RG ran)? I guess it was too much for him, just like yesterday...only today nobody wanted to tow him to the ASS. Maybe they just wanted to tie his ass to the tree.
It looks like he tried to take a bite out of a tree and the tree bit back! From what I can tell, the air intake is full of tree branches (I don't think it's a tree in the background of the photo) which makes me wonder if the engine ingested some of said tree or the blockage caused a lack of power that eventually damaged something.
At least now he has a reason to fold his f*cking Qatari tents and disappear into the night, claiming it was someone else''s fault.
Waiting at finish line: "Buehler,...... Buehler?
What? The tree? LOL!
Dune training in Qatar is easy, trees, not so much..
