STAGE 11: LA RIOJA > LA FIAMBALA

Connection 262km | Special Stage 219km | Total 481km

COURSE OVERVIEW

It is very rare for nothing to happen in Fiambalà! And in 2012 rain ensured that this lethal white sand remained firm, allowing the vehicles of the Dakar to pass through this prime spot for getting blocked and for engines to overheat, without recoiling or stalling. These dunes with their very welcoming contours typically have a very unpleasant surprise in store for competitors. Everything is possible in Fiambalá, including in the new strings of dunes featured on the route. The third part of the rally will boast sand once again, and each person will have to adapt his driving and his general approach to the terrain: those who are less attentive will also risk making serious navigational mistakes which will cost them dearly.

This is what happens can happen and will happen when you race upteenthousand miles over the open country ..........any blame of or complaing about flashflooding is either a simple attempt at being funny or just simple. I'm not staging war against anybody but ...okay one tiny war........with this chick at the Glen..Watkins Glen "Why is it RAINING...why does it have to rain? She shoulda took her boyfriend in the tent out of the rain and out of our ZONE. It is what it is Love the Rally

It doesn't rain at The Glen! Thankfully they have the sports cars

UUmm you are being funny right?

I really don't like what this dude is saying. Robby won period...it wasn't because of the rain, he was putting a 20 minute ass wupping on the field....

No doubt.. it would have just been a larger win if the stage would have been able to have been run in its' entirety.

So, today two Americans won because besides Robby, Kurt Caselli won the stage in the bike category. I don't believe that's been done before.

Don't let anyone piss in our cornflakes Bighead . Robby won no ifs ands or buts about it ! Even if Robby had'nt won today him just fighting each and every day is a win in itself . Robby KNOWS we're behind him and will ALWAYS be a WINNER in our eyes . Be loud and be proud that Robby won today I've already posted it on all my RC forums lol .

with you mj

Well said mj !!

Right on! Great day for RG and Caselli!

I'm all in MJ!!

I'm really doing the happy dance right now . I 'll predict at least 2 more stage wins on the way . Any takers ?

I believe they have raced tomorrows stage before and if I remember correctly RG did pretty well. Not making any predictions but if they race the ENTIRE special tomorrow the results could be quite good.
