Jackass Of the Day Award

Goes to David Gilliland for using his car as a murder weapon against Juan Montoya at 180mph. Nascar said there'd be no further penalties against Gilliland, giving more late-year proof of their idiocy.

Guys in football games have been prosecuted for hits on guys with less intent than Gilliland obviously had against JPM, he didn't give a damn who he hurt, including himself, and should be thrown out of Nascar for life.

Not a big DG fan, but, I don't blame him for getting steamed about getting roughed up. Just because he's laps down doesn't mean he should get the bumper.

Hard to get by? Races hard even though he's laps down? Maybe a questionable decision? Hmm, reminds me of someone else I know.

Plus, I like the guys showing some personality. It adds to what can sometimes be boring races.

Ok I know I'm arguing with everyone here but I'll say one last thing and then leave it be. How would you like if Robby was running top ten, Gilliland was laps down and first ran Robby into the wall, Robby retaliates because that's the Robby we all know and love and then Gilliland does to Robby what he did to JPM. II know everyone here would be ticked. t's ridiculous to make an excuse of Gilly-land just because he's RG's friend. Gilliland should be parked for the remainder of 2008.
