Do you remember during Dakar Robby making it known that the Hummer team was for sale? Well, I talked to a couple buddies that work in Dubai who know people with Yazeed Racing. Yazeed Al-Rahji, a experienced rally driver and team owner, has purchased a hummer. They have announced on their Facebook about running the Hail Rally in the new Hummer.

I don't think wheelbase will change perhaps ride height but not wheelbase, but who knows you could be right.
One more thing to look forward to! I may be off base with this, but I thought the mini's had an advantage being 8 of them in the team. Power in numbers, maybe. I would think 2-3 SST's would increase the odds. I know they would need modifications for the Dakar but they look like they can handle some abuse! Just a thought. I love the Hummer and get the reason why he continue with that...
Robby said in an interview at Dakar, if he comes back in the future it may be in an SST. Depending on the route. SST would be in Argentina.
for 2014 -
SST look alike truck for the rally, and
a "Super-estrellas del Dakar" SST event in Santiago, Chile (or wherever the event ends in 2014) the Monday and Tuesday after Dakar. Fill up the field with bike, quad, car guys from dakar, maybe a couple guys from the states, and local dudes too. And if ASO doesn't like the name, then don't use the word Dakar. Offroad or something else.

I just made it up. But that would make a buttload of money. And cool for the local crowds.
Do it before the Rally When everyone is still fresh and still there. The end of the rally might have a lot of guys you were planning on too beat up, too injured, DNF and already went home or just tired of being away from home for a month. I like the concept though
Why not offer all the SST drivers the chance for Dakar, then have a big multi truck team
Great idea. Some quick math.......Yeah, about $100 million should cover it give or take $10 million.
No dreamin here damn it!
Last rally had speculation and wonder........Meanwhile back at the Batcave the trucks were being given the pre-up and varification to the systems inplace. News that seemed not for the average JOE as (myself included) some were left in the wings until the news of going to the Rally itself brought to light the trucks were being inspected "back in the summer". It's nice to sit around and have a hen party about what might be and who might be and when might be and the where might be. However I learned long ago, Keep one foot on the rug and the other on the ground around here.........you never know whats going to happen good or bad. I like the idea of the Traxxis "Dakar/SST Edition" hitting the shelves near you this fall .........but. Kids say "It would be cool" and old men say "remember when"......
