Atlanta SST in July

I know it's early to be discussing this race, and a couple discussions have been started and deleted already.. I would like to start talking about in order to start making plans about it. I myself have no plans on "pausing or deleting this post".

Info I'm looking for..

1, anyone with knowledge of the stadium area please speak up on anything that might be good to know

2, Hotels? While I would prefer to bring my camper I didn't see any campground listed close to this area. I hate driving after large events so I'm looking for hotels that are within oh...say.. 2miles from the stadium. (wife has a $300 gift card to Mariot Hotels given to her from work). So any info in close hotels would be great.

3, And of course anyone else that's planning on going and wants to do a Planet Robby meet and great would be cool.

Look how old this post is, most of us need to plan things like trips out in life. It's inexcusable, irresponsible and actually disrespectful to me as a consumer to handle events this way.

I got lucky, I was able to cancel my rental and hotel today, on 3 days notice with no penalty. I'll be stuck with my days off and will go to another event. It wasn't an easy thing to do, as you said I based it on marked cancelations from Ticketmaster, Solider Field and BigFoot. If the event by some grace of god is ran, I would be livid....because despite my prior planning and financial commitment I would miss it.

Based on that experience and knowing the passion of the people in this thread (and the one before this one became the official), this is a kick in the teeth.

I'll hold out for official words and hope its all in good reason and for the better of SST. However, the way this all played out, sadly I would forever be skeptical of buying a ticket or planning a trip again.

I can't even imagine what he is dealing with, he's out alot more than a weekend and a ticket that's for sure.

One thing we all learned should learned being fan of his was, bad things happen and things don't always work out. You just need to be honest when things take that turn.

I'm just not seeing that honesty or transparency. Three days before an event is the time to hype, publicize and tell your friends what your doing this weekend. Instead it's confusion, speculation and frustration with the one outlet who should be setting the record straight being silent.

Bummed for everyone involved. I know how hard everyone has been working there and how many of us were looking forward to the event. It's a huge undertaking. Fingers crossed things work out.

I agree Carrie. I'm sure this hurts RGM more than anyone here. They have put a lot of effort into this series and I would hate to see that wasted. I'm only bummed that I will miss out on meeting a bunch of PR folks.
