Its never easy... (look whos in the 84 car at Homestead)

"Martin in the #84 at Homestead: Monday [11-10-2008] on “SIRIUS Speedway” on SIRIUS NASCAR Radio, host Dave Moody is reporting that Mark Martin will drive the #84 Red Bull Toyota this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, replacing Scott Speed. Host, Dave Moody: “Since taking over for the released AJ Allmendinger four races ago, Speed has recorded an average finish of 34.2, including a 40th yesterday in Phoenix. The team has fallen out of the Top-35 in owners’ points now. They now trail the Michael Waltrip Motorsports #47 team by 16 points with one race to go in the battle for that all important 35th position in the owner standings. An official announcement is expected from the team later this afternoon. Mark Martin, of course, enjoys a long relationship with Red Bull Racing general manager Jay Frye, for whom he drove at the former MB3 and Ginn Racing teams. He ran his final scheduled event for Dale Earnhardt, Inc. yesterday in Phoenix. He, of course, will move to Hendrick Motorsports full time in 2009. His arrangement with Red Bull Racing is, we are told, for one race only and will have no impact on the team's long term plans for Scott Speed.(SIRIUS XM Radio PR)(11-10-2008)"

RGM hopefully has their crap together for Homestead. This could get ugly...

This has me a little stressed out...
This sucks big time. Can Robby buy a car from ??? and bring in a hotter shoe? Maybe Dinger.
Hotter shoe than who, Robby? Your kidding, right? Robby is one of the best talents in the garage, being compared to AJ is kind of funny.

Robby is too stubborn to get equipment from anyone, we just have to hope the new ttCOTs are as good as the team says they are...
ever think that the new chassis is nothing more than what the other teams had 6 months ago ?
Yes, I do. Still though, RGM seems to get a bit more angle out of their new cars (more "crabby") than the other teams do, they must be doing something different...
no.....never thought of that
Blah! Y'all worry too much! It's is what it is. POS racing isn't that good on the intermediate tracks and RGM has seemed to have found something there. They just need to finish at Homestead, just try any funny stuff with the car, adn Rob will do what he has to do to get the finish they need!

On to BAJA BABY!
With Mark Martin in the #84 and Ambrose running good in the #47...Robby needs to be on his game.

Mark Martin is smart enough to run a solid race a get the #84 back inside the Top 35. Ambrose is the "wild card" now, he's ran good enough to get the team back in, but has reeceived alot of help from Scott Speed's poor finishes. It will be a 3 man "musical chairs" for 2 seats. When the checkered flag falls only two teams will be locked in for 2009 and one team will know they were so close. The #77 is just about done. He would need a Top 10 finish and need the #7, #47 and #84 to have poor finishes. The #66 could go down if he had a real bad finish, but not likely.

Hopefully, Robby has a seat
Robby is closer to the #66 and #41 than the #77 is to 35th place.

This is going to be close, and with a terrible pit crew pitting the car, RGM is definately behind the 8 ball...

Silver lining could be one of the DEI teams shutting down that is in the top 35. Dont say it cant happen, one of the Ginn cars was in the top 35 and Nascar prevented the points from being sold. (The other Ginn car that was disolved with the DEI merger had its points go to the #15 car)
Anything could happen to any of the 43 cars that take the green. For all we know the # 84 could blow its motor ! Just cos Martin is in the car does not mean he's going to finish top 10 and put Robby out.
Everything will be alright. Yes we could do with a good run but to be honest a top 30 will more than likely be enough. Heck, Robby's had his share of 39th and 41st place finishes to last a life time. These other muppets are gonna end up with a bad race for once I just know it.
Your right, Martin is no guarantee. But what scenario do you like better, Speed or Martin in the car? :)

It just adds to the drama of the top 35 race!
RG needs to run his own race and not worry about the others. As long as he is focused on what HE needs to do, then he should get the solid, safe finish that will lock him in the top 35.
