So would Dakar allow their race to be the launching of a new car company? Or does a car need to have backing from a current car company to be in that class?

Well, this is a bit dated, but still carries on the speculation. It's a mule, as stated before, but a good indication of what's to come. We will have see what the body style and color really is.
