RFF, if you are interested, read some of the other threads at this site. Those two pictures have been discussed all week. There's even a quote from Robby in regard to those two pictures. Per Robby, that vehicle is a test machine. Robby called in a "mule." Robby also said that the Dakar racer will not have that skin. He's assured us we will like it.

Also, you must watch the video where he announces the Gordini. This is the latest news.

Seriously dude

So in the interview on the main page he said it would have an front engine placement. What are some of the Pros to that, opposed to having the mid engine set up, like the Hummers had?

the original HUMMER's had the engine in the rear (NOT mid engine) Front engine placement should make the racer more competitive on WRC type stages.

I got you. So is one set up more durable than the other. Less parts to break or what. Just not familiar. I know its been said that 2 wheel drive set ups have less stuff that can fail. I guess I'm just wondering if one is more durable than the other or if they are equal in that sense. I was thinking more weight over the rear tires would get the power down faster in the Rally type sections .

The problem is the front bite on the hummers. With a 100 gal fuel cell no need to worry about rear not getting hooked up. Lots of insight can he found reading through the various threads. Enjoy

the rear will be astraight Axle, no more worry of Rear Hubbs breaking or CV boots going away. i would think there is a spare drive-line on there somewhere tho

Hello! So what are the major differences between an SST truck and the Dakar truck? I would imagine a larger fuel tank & built in jack system. They also, must carry a ton of spare parts & tools. Any one know the details of what's brought on the truck? Also, do they change the engines with fresh ones at any point?

@Dave, Only the motorbikes are allow'd legal engine changes.
5gl or 10gl of water.I've forgotten, If time allow's I'll re-read the rule book.

Rule 47P1
5 liters of water per person + 1 1.5 liter 'comeback' type drinking system per person. So, 3.435gl for 2
