STAGE 3 TRACKING

STAGE 3: SAN RAFAEL > SAN JUAN

Connection 295km | Special Stage 301km | Total 596km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The competitors of the 2014 Dakar will experience their first taste of the mountains by passing through the Pre-Andes. The Aconcagua Volcano stands 6,962m high and will observe the progress of the vehicles, of which a part will rehearse their high mountain driving techniques. The motorcyclists will climb up 4,300 metres during their special stage, on a ridgeline where they will have the impression of towering over the whole of America! The descent will bring them back to the tough reality of the drivers of the Dakar, as they will only have finished the first part of this marathon stage. They will have to ensure the mechanics for their own vehicles at the isolated bivouac which has been set up for them.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Standings show BJ down over 6hrs overall

was 7:30 or more yesterday and he lost another :45 today so it shoould be 8:08 or so is all I wondered about.

I checked and Chic, Rob, Bj all have close to same time. Must have shared fix. BJ was faster than a lot of the ones in front of him apparently. Same with Robby.

It seems we have ROCKET ROB back,,,, tomorrow we start near the front. It will be time to "Rip It' for a stage win.

First images right now on tv here!!

grave.. !!! avec l'accent toulousain s'il te plait ^^

boudu con!

Great come back today! I hope that the problem was the sh*tty gas and what they did last night fixes the problem. They are still giving away time on the straights without the rear hatch. I guess that is the next fix because dust in the radiators can't be that good.

They were at around 10K ft elevation. A Turbo diesel will outperform NA Petrol all day. I doubt it's a hatch issue.

FAN MADE :D
