STAGE 3 TRACKING

STAGE 3: SAN RAFAEL > SAN JUAN

Connection 295km | Special Stage 301km | Total 596km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The competitors of the 2014 Dakar will experience their first taste of the mountains by passing through the Pre-Andes. The Aconcagua Volcano stands 6,962m high and will observe the progress of the vehicles, of which a part will rehearse their high mountain driving techniques. The motorcyclists will climb up 4,300 metres during their special stage, on a ridgeline where they will have the impression of towering over the whole of America! The descent will bring them back to the tough reality of the drivers of the Dakar, as they will only have finished the first part of this marathon stage. They will have to ensure the mechanics for their own vehicles at the isolated bivouac which has been set up for them.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Dam it must be rough out on course!

16:58 - quad

250 - Patronelli gives up!

Stuck on the day's special shortly after CP1, Marcos Patronelli has been evacuated to the bivouac and is ok, in spite of suffering from dehydration. In a major blow for Marcos, the rally is over for the two times winner of the event from Argentina.

Last time that was done here was 1939. rope is long gone. THis is one of those we got it but use it states. I wouldn`t want to do it anyway.

Opps. This was suppose to be a reply. Hate using the phone for this EVERYTHIS IS SO tiny.

Felt a little like a win today...if the bloody tracker works tomorrow it will feel like Christmas !

this gordini is a small giant beast

Today's 6th place is much important that it seems at first, not only to resolve the fuel problem was important but the critical altitude of the stage and the low pressure at 12000 feet makes the 6th place awesome!!!!

Gas On Robby, new Dakar is born!

tomorrow RG should be a rocket ship

If I'm looking at this right, RG has moved up to 41st overall provisionanly! Gas-on!!!

last night I was looking at O/A's.44th was an hour ahead,so we needed to gain an hour on them or they needed to lose an hour, how ever you want to phrase it.

WTH? Free rides! LOL
