STAGE 4: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO
Connection 211km | Special Stage 657km | Total 868km
COURSE OVERVIEW
The strategy of the motorcyclists will come into play: initially their navigational skills will be seriously tested at the beginning of the morning, and then they will be faced with the problem of worn tyres, as they have already been over-used the day before. As for the drivers of cars, they will have an even more demanding route to tackle in the countryside. The Dakar’s competitors haven’t faced a special stage this long since the historical one from Zouerat to Tichit in 2005! They will have to cross rivers, descend the canyons in a Wild West setting and beware of the other participants: as these terrains are often wide open, it will be entirely possible to overtake fellow competitors.
The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Good morning all! It is great to see Robby running so great! I love starting my work day with an hour of catching up on what all has been happening. I will try to get some work done today. It's going to be hard to get anything done over the next few hours.
need lot of power to climb up at altitude need alot of balls to go down the other side remember johny campble saying it was the scaryist thing he ever did
+1 Hope somebody has a camera...
that is a ride I would pay money to take. probably better than any roller coaster or sky dive thrill out there!
that aint no joke! or the dunes near the end of the rally!
Should not Sainz be through WP7?
My tracker only shows top 6, with Robby as last one through. Same for the rest of you?
Sainz started 17th. He would be unbelievably fast to already be thru. Roma thru WP8
