STAGE 4 TRACKING

STAGE 4: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 211km | Special Stage 657km | Total 868km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The strategy of the motorcyclists will come into play: initially their navigational skills will be seriously tested at the beginning of the morning, and then they will be faced with the problem of worn tyres, as they have already been over-used the day before. As for the drivers of cars, they will have an even more demanding route to tackle in the countryside. The Dakar’s competitors haven’t faced a special stage this long since the historical one from Zouerat to Tichit in 2005! They will have to cross rivers, descend the canyons in a Wild West setting and beware of the other participants: as these terrains are often wide open, it will be entirely possible to overtake fellow competitors.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

thanks to all for the help in following the race/ not to good on computers but u all help immemsly

ill just wait for rg's response on stage 4 but it takes them too dam long to update and this second hand guessing is getting anoying hst is doing fine per kellon and i take that rg is fast but is being carefull

Internet is awful down there, else they would be quicker.

I take it from the pictures posted that whatever was ailing the rear hatch has been addressed; it was attached today.

The Lil Engine That Could !
Just keep chugging along Robby . We all know you've got the heart of a lion bud KEEP ON FIGHTING .

I think waiting is a good option............They just finished another stage and have a lot o shit to do and ...........hold on this just in............"Have you ever been workin on a car ..or a sink.....or a "Tangle"...........and then a face in the crowd says "How long will it be"?.................I'm shoveling the friggen driveway and I hear "HOW LONG is it gonna be"? .....Well now that you ask i'm gonna light a cigar and have a beer and talk to my neighbor ( who hates me).........so to answer when it will be how long before updates on when the ribs are going to be done .........oh shit this was supposed to be a text to my Bit.......there's the timer now. Pagers can be recycled into timers .....

Good one MM!

My take is that RG is finally finding his groove. The truck is running better and with a bit of racing luck he would have placed better. If it is one thing I hav learned from watching this race over the last 8 years is that stage performance is up and down on any given day and its not over till its over.

If you look at RG performance up to WP5 today his truck was only marginally slower than the leaders. Not all that bad and tomorrow is another day.

Stage 3 video goes up at 9pm.et tonight.

RG talks plenty in it.

Stage 4 video hope to have up tomorrow

Thanks. Did you say uploads was 75 kb a sec? Quite surprising that they aren't able to get good internet connectivity out in the middle of no where... BC is doing the best he can with the resources he had and I for one would like to say thank you to him and the team for working thru adversity and providing us with great racing action from the other side of the world. Kudos to you!

Just to put things in perspective, It's just past 4:00 pm PST, 116 cars left the start of today's stage, only 64 have registered in at the ASS. 14th for the day ain't so bad!

Maybe this has been covered and I missed it but Chicherit has withdrawn from the Rally. I guess RG was only half right about the EV cars dropping out after stage 4.
