STAGE 5 TRACKING

STAGE 5: CHILECITO > TUCUMAN

Connection 384km | Special Stage 527km | Total 911km

COURSE OVERVIEW

After two race days with completely separate routes, everyone will gather together to tackle the longest stage of the rally. They will need to be extremely resistant to overcome these two sections of the special stage which will primarily feature sand. All day long the competitors will make headway on off-piste sections: those who have poorly assessed the limits of their engine will constantly be on the verge of overheating and all the more so, as the region’s temperatures are generally very high. At the bivouac in Tucuman, the candidates for the podium will have been whittled down to a select few, as many of them will no longer be a part of this elite group. For many others, their timing and mechanical mishaps will only become apparent in the middle of the night.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Oh yeah I agree. Safety for the riders you can't see in the dust. I prefer that reason as opposed to the "course is too tough" rational. Do you know at what point the bikes went off course?

So the cars are just getting to the area where the bikes had problems. Only 1 short section past liaison then.

10:27 - bike

003 - Wrong way for Barreda, Chaleco and Perdrero

Several seconds after the arrival of Marc Coma, his pursuers are all at sea: after 195 km, a possible split in the tracks to the north caused them to make a mistake. Joan Barreda, Juan Pedrero Garcia, Francisco Lopez, Israel Esquerre, Przygoski, Jake and Duclos have all taken this incorrect track that almost runs parallel to the right route.

WHEW!!!!! I was ready to go back to bed must have been that inspirational can I opened

LOL!...It was a good job you opened it then....do you have any more....we may need some more!

2 cases ............Christmas you know.

I hope he didn't miss that WP,,,, sure had me worried

That's a good point....I hope he didn't by-pass....that would be disqualification!

I doubt it.. his gap behind Drabrowski on course physically changed very little between Wp 1 & 3

The off-trail sand must be a killer. Nobody checked in at WP4 yet.

On two occasions since the departure, Nasser Al-Attiyah crashed in the sand on two occasions. In that same time the Qatari driver of the team X-Raid is in the process of distributing the Km 149.

Translation from French

Sorry ....I am not understanding!
