STAGE 11 TRACKING

STAGE 11: ANTOFAGASTA > EL SALVADOR

Connection 144km | Special Stage 605km | Total 749km

COURSE OVERVIEW

In addition to the distance, here the competitors will be put to the test by all the difficulties offered by the Atacama Desert… and will have to display all the qualities required for off-road races. After the mine tracks and the many rivers to cross, the competitors will have to distinguish themselves in the heart of the Dunes of Copiapo: the fastest motorcyclists are expected to spend seven hours behind the wheel. Needless to say that on this decisive day there will be no shortage of opportunities for competitors to make a winning comeback in the race. This will be the key stage of the 2014 edition.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

What would happen if RG & Peterpencil announced P would be driving a 2nd Speed HST for Dakar 2015?

Well I think the first thing would be The Devil would take up ice skating.

Ha Ha!

I think peterhansel would be driving for Peugeot if they come back in competition, not sure he would appreciate to be the second of Robby!

Geo - with your imagination you'd do very well up here Hollywood way. lol.

What does the Gordini get four mileage now? I have guessed with E85 at 4mpg and 145 gallons required.

Probably the same, or maybe alittle better than the H3, which was about 5 mpg.

Ok. I had made a 20% reduction for energy content. This is from and SAE article a few years back on first season experience with the LS7 on E85

""Calibrating the fuel control to maximize the air/fuel ratio and optimizing areas like deceleration fuel cutoff became important enablers to reduce consumption."""

"""While specific E85 engine tuning—i.e., compression ratio, camshaft, inlet lengths—would certainly be something to look at in a highly competitive environment, it was not considered necessary in terms of the additional budget requirements for our (ALMS) GT1 program," Allen said.""

My Dakar tracking is working at the moment, but it doesn't show Robby even through 1....

I would think if it was over for Robby we would have heard. Thinking they are too busy racing to talk to the fans......

Agree, if it was over everyone would be talking about it. Hope you're right. I hate not knowing at least something.
