Huge robby fan and fan of SST anyone have any idea how the series is doing financially? Been to a few of the races and have watched almost all that have been televised and the stands are never even close to be filled and one can only imagine the extreme costs to build/prep/rent all the equipment needed for these races. Hoping to keep the series around for years to come!

I'm afraid to repeat myself but I ..no not afraid that term is wrong. However way you put it or I put it racing these trucks on pavement is some pretty damn cool ass shit. And if need be what's in a name keep running these things the way they are and it may grow from that form alone. I recall reading they are engineered for shorter runs so at this point running alongside indy cars and "growing" is win win for now. And as demand may grow then .......there you go.

partnering with indy has, I imagine, made the series cheaper to run, and as so many has suggested, increases viewing numbers.

I was in Toronto last year, the seats were visibly fuller on the sunday (2nd race) when people started talking about the SST (and seeing the paddock out in the open with the chance to get up close to the trucks without spending an extra $50 sure helped!)... that, to me, is proof enough that the series is something special and can and will attract the fanbase to keep them viable in the future.

Would I love to see them back in stadiums in the upcoming years? Absolutely.. I almost had a chance to see the Minneapolis event last year until it got cancelled... I think that with the exposure the series is getting at indy car will help lead the series back into the stadiums in the future when more people know about it.

"We're having the @SSuperTrucks back next year. I'm scared to death, but we're having them back." - Bud Denker @chevy @detroitgp

Obviously SST impressed the Detroit GP folks this weekend. Bud Denker is the head dude of the Detroit GP and one of Roger Penske's closest friends and business partners. Being associated with Indycar will continue to help grow this series.

A very prominent person in the media center came up to me and said "When the trucks hit the track, everybody stopped what they were doing to watch the race on TV. You guys stole the weekend"

AWESOME !!!!
That's the best hype we can get .
Nice!!

I think it was real important to have races on consecutive weekends prior to this weekends X-games appearance. Gives the fans and media recent footage to help build the hype. Landing the event during the Indy 500 was huge. They put on a great show in Detriot. Being able to exhibit the action this weekend coming up at X-games on live TV directed at IMO SST's core demographic will do wonders for the series. Like a prior article said: Robby Gordon at X-games was destined.. Here's to a great finish at the Baja 500 (he won this event last year) and a good show at X-games. Good thing RG has that SPEED ENERGY ;)

I hope it continues to do well. The last few weekends have definitely made some noise on Twitter and Sirius XM race shows. I wish Robby could get a few races on some NASCAR tracks (run on qualifying day or when the Trucks don't run)...wish NBC Sports had it Live!

I think having winners other than Robby helps. I want RG to win, but when it's his series it becomes alot like seeing Jimmie Johnson win again. X-Games will be huge! I hope SPEED ENERGY is bringing a full assault. The racing is awesome, only a matter of time.

Hey Big, remember EJ won all 3 races last weekend. It would be cool if Robby could get Watkins Glen next year. Most of the other ovals would be tough to do. The Glen could work, since NBC Sports wil be covering Nascar then. Oh yeah and Nascar (the track)would have to want it as well.

The further Robby stays away from NASCRAP the better .

Amen, Bro!!!

That's funny mj and McG....Considering even Robby has stated we're in the entertainment business and NASCAR is the biggest show! I think alot of NASCAR drivers would love to run a SST race. Jimmie Johnson grew up on this stuff. The fact that you think RG should stay away just shows you don't understand. Millions watch NASCAR...it's a math thing, didn't expect you to understand. LOL!
