Huge robby fan and fan of SST anyone have any idea how the series is doing financially? Been to a few of the races and have watched almost all that have been televised and the stands are never even close to be filled and one can only imagine the extreme costs to build/prep/rent all the equipment needed for these races. Hoping to keep the series around for years to come!

Yeah and when's the last time that asshole Johnson even acknowledged he ran off road ? I'm not saying it wouldn't be awesome to have nascar drivers in SST . I'm saying SST doesn't need nascar . France runs his own show his own way and if there's even the slightest chance of his show being upstaged he don't want anything to do with it . I know everyone thinks nascar is the closest thing to god almighty himself but I'm sorry NO IT ISNT ! There's a reason Robby left nascar , yes a lot had to do with the SST schedule and needing more time . But the writing was on the wall way before that . Unless your on one of the money teams you don't stand a chance of being competitive . France preaches how everything is supposed to be fair and equal , when in reality it's all about what teams can bring in the most money in the form of marketing . Robby is on the right track being with the Indy car circuit . It's getting the SST brand out there without getting all the political bullshit that comes with nascar . If any nascar driver wants to come race SST they're more than welcome but Robby doesn't need nascar getting their political and financial bullshit involved .

You're halarious!

@MJ Robby left NASCAR because his sponsorship left NASCRAP, end of story...

sorry, that is not what my memory say's.There where many factor's,not just one.

I hope the auto makers sit up and notice that there is a real demand for these small style trucks. A stadium truck mass produced is probably out of the question, but if Chevy reintroduced the S-10 or Ford offered the Ranger in the US again I would seriously consider one. A full sized truck has its' purpose for sure, but these little trucks can get the job done too. My Dad had a Mazda B2000 sport when I was a tyke and he said it was the best truck he ever owned. Long live the Datsun truck lol j/k

Yea the pony trucks .........Ford F 150..within a year you will be sitting on the side of the road like a dunce......what is it 30+ grand it's just friggen ......as far as the Glen goes NAZICAR does not own that track......every truck out there is a nut breaking over kill job..who can buy a new truck pay the mortage put food on the table take the kid to hockey and have a few bucks left over these days......not the average person that's for sure............as far as the x games go I'd imagine the trucks are last because they are going to EAT what ever is left of the course and people will need ice up their Arsssez to get the smiles off their faces after it's all said and done. Well well look at the time......Sandy is working tonight and there's nothing she likes more than to play a game of chess at 2 in the morning ..........."table stakes ...you know"

Stated under the impression the trucks will be hitting dirt.

Michael, the Glen is owned by International Speedway Corp, which is owned by the France family (Nascar). The more eyes seeing SST the better, no matter who it is.

Nicely put putter.

Have not understood some on this site. Robby Gordon has off road fans, NASCAR fans and INDY fans...I don't slam the other styles of racing, just wish he was in NASCAR. I enjoyed listening to his scanner and watching him race. I have followed his off road racing the last few years and enjoy it, but it's not as fan interactive as NASCAR. Listening to the scanner while Robby raced was pure entertainment. I can't stand the France family and the NASCAR officials, but I love NASCAR racing. The new format has been great! Talladega qualifying was about as good as watching a race. Can't wait to see The Chase! (I couldn't stand The Chase in years previous). I hate the timing of everything. If RGM was racing full time now, the changes would benefit his team.
Heard from several shows more huge changes are coming next year. Most mentioned are the season finale race going out for bids (like the Super Bowl and Final Four) and changing the Chase schedule up (adding a road course race to The Chase), etc.

SST's future looking good from my point of view. More sponsors have come onboard and the scheduling with Indy tracks seems to be a good thing. I think teh X-Games will open the sport up to alot of new young eyes...just have to have some follow up events to please the new fans. Could be a big day for SST and Speed Energy

Looking at Nascar's new Chase format...there's a couple of sleeper tracks that could impact the Chase lineup. The two road races will open the door for driver's like Ambrose, Almendinger and others to have shot at getting in. Talladega's Fall race is notorious for first time winners...Larson or Dillion could grab a win there.

Say what you want...NASCAR is heading back in the right direction with their changes. I also believe Robby has a product that many younger fans will like, just need to get more exposure (kinda of like the Speed Energy drink battling for shelf space). Everyone I know that tries Speed Energy says they love it, best tasting energy drink they've had. Problem here in Alabama is you can't find them. SST is some of the best racing out there, problem it needs to be LIVE on TV (not tape delayed).

all the could'a,would'a,should'a, crap. Here's what's real. Baja 500 Qualifying on Thursday,Baja 500 is Saturday,TT's start around 10am/pt.X games is on ABC 2:00 pm/et. And the Planet will have 'CHAT' Saturday till the finish and Sunday for the X-games.

Exactly instead of bitching bout Robby not being here or not doing this or that or whatever . How bout being glad for what Robby IS doing . Dakar , Desert , and SST !!
X-games is gonna be off the chain and we should all be happy for Robby , instead some people just wanna complain .
