During the Sirius/XM NASCAR Catchfence show this morning callers were once again posing the question, "should their be a road course race in The Chase?" The callers and hosts debated the pros and cons to why and why not. Then the question was asked to the hosts, if the drivers were in equal cars with equal teams who would be the dominate driver at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. The host immediately stated, "This may surprise the audience, but as good as Kurt Busch and Marcos Ambrose is. Lots of great road aces like Boris Said and Ron Fellows would do better with better equipment, but Robby Gordon was probably the best driver on a road course hands down. When he had solid equipment like RCR's he was dominant and when he had under funded equipment he was still a threat. He is so versatile and has so much car control, he's the one driver that would dominate if everyone was on equal equipment. He can really wheel a car.
It was awesome to hear! I also heard yesterday a hosts state, "Robby not being at Sonoma is such a shame. It's like Dale Junior not racing at Talladega. It's what people come to see. Robby belongs here."

Is it the pic or does it have lights just above the splitter?
Yea................lookin at the tree there are branches missing and Robby Gordon is one of them. If ever and when someone says "What brings you to BLAH BLAH BLAH......I hope his answer is something like "It's a race and i'm a racer' and when...Whats this thread about ?? oh yeah, roadies and drivers and such... Nice to see Brendan get the Road America win I'd like to see Robby race that place if Cup goes there for sure.........without all the trouble makers that race was missing something for sure............I recall "It's not how fast you go but where you go fast". Im sure it has many meanings like "through the bus stop"....."through the esses" or whatever the pinpoint was when it was stated. Now however I'd say one of the meanings are 150 through the desert rather than a straight away.
I would not see it as a 4th fiddle...or even a second bass....or complimentary vocals.......A car prepared by Childress' shop with some whatever you want to call it from Robby and..........to be honest it would be nice to see Rob run a raod course in a competetive car ....period. I don't care who fielded it for him. We all know who would and who would not and the feathers will always by flying around over it........to me a race is a race is a race is a race...............and if said race was run I would be sitting there waiting for a phantom speeding infraction and live it all over .......again.
A one-off 4th entry is a backup of a backup. 4th in line for prep.
