Tony Stewart to announce retirement soon!

Dave Moody stated he was attempting to confirm, but one news outlet is reporting Tony Stewart sat down with former Cup Champion Darrell Waltrip and will soon announce he's retiring from all racing series. It appears Tony is working with sponsors Mobil 1, Bass Pro, Coca Cola and others on finalizing details. Not sure if the #14 team will have a replacement driver or fold. There's a lot of questions that will need to be answered if Tony retires about his future with SHR. Dave Moody stated he was trying to verify with Waltrip and sources if the report was true, but several seem to lean towards the news being probably true.

Retire from driving ? Perhaps, but from racing in general as a team owner I just can't see.

No details at this time... Dave Moody mentioned he was hearing an announcement was coming, but cautioned he was working to verify if it was true.

I agree, he has SHR and Eldora as something to really stay involved in. I hope it's not true, but it's also a very unique and tragic situation.

The group making this announcement is a lot like "The Onion" they're full of shit and not to be trusted. If Moody reports it as true I'll buy it until then I call "BullShit!"

I hope it isn't true . He needs to stay a few yrs more then retire . If he does it now it'll REALLY set off all the internet rumor vultures . If he does wanna retire he should wait til he can go out on his own accord . We all know if he leaves now everyone will say " he felt guilty " , or some other bullshit comment .
