If RG was a "drifter"... and was drifting what would it look like??.. I have a feeling something like this.. My friend e-mailed me this and I thought i would share it.. if its old news, sorry in advance.. looks like this guy is what RG is to offroad.. I dont follow the rally/drifter guys.. never heard of "Ken Block" till this.. Enjoy..
I receive the same video from my friend the other day also, I replied to him that "if you want to see some real driving search RG on you tube and bring a sack lunch, you'll be there a while"

Yea, Ken Block started and still owns part of DC shoe. Thats what allows him to have all those expensive toys. Ken is most certainly not to rally what RG is to offroad. He even gets beat quite frequently by his team mate/friend Travis Pastrana at most rally events.
RG has gone to a drifting event, and had mixed results. By the end of the exhibition event, he was drifting just as good as some of the regulars. Of course prior to that RG destroyed one of Rhys Millens GTOs by slamming it into the wall. Rhys to this day is still not happy about that. (Both were red bull athletes at the time, Red Bull put RG in the car)
The other note of interest regarding that event, RG was wearing a brand new Sony firesuit and it was around the time of the buying Yates rumor. Apparently he had Sony signed on to sponsor the 88 or 7 for the next year. When Yates nixed the deal in the final hours, Sony went away.
Ill see if I can find and photos or video of RG at the drift event.

Sony sponsored what race? Im looking at picures and every other driver is wearing their usual fire suit, and Robbys Sony HDTV suit has all of his associate sponsors on it. Are we talking about the same 2006 event?
I've seen Robby drift. He did it 2 years ago for a Kasey Kahne fundraiser at Irwindale. He hit the wall and tore up the car. The only one of the Nascar guys to do that.
Glad I'm not the only one to hear about the drifting incident. That vid however, looked like too much fun. OK, I'm off to go test drive an STI at my local airport. I may be calling one of you guys for bail in about an hr.
I was thinkin Joliet regional, only 1 1/2 miles straight shot from Bill Jacobs Subaru. They also sell Chevys though so I'd have a tough time goin for the STI when theres a Carbon Gray Corvette Z06 sittin out front. Somethin tells me that would be more fun, than a stock STI. Allthough, I prolly have a much better chance at test driving the STI. Decisions, decisions...

Evo is more fun than an STi, haha!
Id second the Z06 in stock for being a better choice than the STi in stock form. Although I have contemplated adding a new STi wagon to compliment my Evo, I mean in wagon form its the ultimate tail-gaiting machine for football season!
Actually Ken is not technicaly drifting in this video, he is doing a differnt form of techical driving which requires going around obsticals at high speed and the car he is driving, just about any advanced driver could perform. (video was very edited from many scenes and clips).
But on to my point. ...... I also was at Robby's drifting debut, he was easily the best out of the box. Yes he did kill the championship winning GTO (which Rhys Millen is still bitching about to this day) but later stepped into the Falken RX7 which was "lets just say a turd of car" and looked as though he was a full time formula drift driver. I was very close to the team that owned the RX7, and right before Robby got into the car, the Team and the D1 Grand Prix officials told him "do not hit the top bank" well needless to say on his second lap in the RX7 he took to the bank, hit it perfect at full speed and the crowd went nuts........ a night to remember! and to give Kasey Kahne some credit he took to the big bank after Rob and did really well too.
