Sorry my previous post was short and sweet. Both have major logistical issues to over come just to have a race. Casey has. to deal with the BLM.Nobody in their right mind want's to deal with a government agency. And Roger has to deal with third world payola politics. In some way's Roger's deal is easier, hand over more cash and it's a deal.BLM seems to think our land is theirs and are picks about it.It's a major undertaking for both to have event's.

Oh I know and I commend and respect both for what they do . I'm just wondering which is better at it . In a perfect world I'd like to see the 2 combine their efforts into 1 series . It seems like BITD has shorter races but more of them while SCORE has longer races but fewer . How bout they meet in the middle and promote desert racing as a whole .

mj, I'd love to see all the races tied together but you have one big problem, the have's and the have not's. Some could do them all some one series or the other and some a few choice events that fit the budget.

I do not agree on being one. It never really works out.Ask me about how touring Late Model Stock Car racing worked out in the NW after the two series combined? It didn't.Huge failure.Ego's,$,ego's and $ will alway's be an x factor. In a couple of ways Casey and Roger are working together, they don't shit talk each other, and they don't try to have races in each other's area geographically.

And they don't schedule races over each other.

I'm looking at it more like the CART/IRL split it was only a matter of time before 1 or the other failed , and the competition as far as car drive quality didn't seem as good . I'd like to see the same thing happen with short course too combine TORC and LOORRS into 1 series . But yes I can see the same thing happening there too . The smaller teams would suffer with budgets as well . However one good thing with combining the series ( both short course and desert ) is it would bring the car counts up for the races .

Monopolies are never good for the consumer (racer) be careful for what you wish for.

I posted this on RDC but it kinda fits here as well .

I think part of what's hurting the sport
( and this is mostly on Roger's / SCORE part ) is they're trying to get too mainstream . Mainstream is horrible for Motorsports plain and simple . Need proof ? 1 word ...........
N A S C A R !!
It was so much better when it was a mostly regional sport with hardcore fans . I just hope that the same doesn't happen to offroad racing ( short course and desert ) . I like the fact that not everyone follows Offroad , as much as they do NASCAR . Nascar has lost the purity that it once had by trying to cater to everyone else instead of concentrating on the hardcore fans that supported them for yrs . Keep offroad to ourselves , we don't need a billion $ TV company to let us watch what they wanna show us instead give us a few hardcore companies such as Mad Media ( or any others out there just using them as an example ) and let them show not only just the big money teams but spread the wealth around and show the smaller low budget guys too . The big dollar companies will still get their advertising and spotlight moments but it would be with people who can actually appreciate what they're watching instead of a Joe Public who wouldn't know a TT from dune buggy .

That's part of the reason I say Roger is more into the money part than Casey . BITD is still small enough that he can keep that purity of the sport closer at hand than SCORE .

MJ ... you've lost me ... which year do you speak of?

Richard Petty , Cale Yarborough , Bobby and Donnie Allison days . Don't know your age but you might be to young to remember those days , but NASCAR wasn't always the joke it's become .

I was 10 back then ... and funny when ... Bobby got down and dirty ... and grabbed Cale's leg ... like watching the Keystone Cops ... jeje

Lap 21 ... Happy's leading

Purely from a on-site spectator pov hands down its any series in mexico.
