STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > SAN JUAN

Connection 107km | Special Stage 518km | Total 625km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Any rest will be short-lived, because before reaching San Juan, the competitors will have a particularly busy schedule: quite simply the longest special stage in the rally, which is varied enough to unsettle even the most experienced of drivers. Hard terrain at the start of the race will be followed by dusty sections in the middle of the day and a sandy stretch to finish. This is the first real test, which can only be successfully overcome through constant vigilance.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Stage 2 UPDATE

Robby Gordon has passed through KM185 of 518 and remains 49 minutes behind.

Next update at KM230 #TeamSPEED

WP8 : RG +49min36

11:48 Cars: Gordon in trouble

Having started in 2nd place, Robby Gordon is having a complicated day. The American has already lost around 40 minutes attempting to fix a problem due to overheating brakes and has still not reached CP1. This stage could compromise his ambitions in the general standings…

12:23 Cars: Gordon reaches CP2

Trailing by 50 minutes, Robby Gordon has finally reached the 2nd intermediate point. The American seems to have rediscovered his normal pace but has lost time which will be difficult to claw back over the next few days…

I seem to remember Robby fiddling with the brakes last week after driving around town, might have tweaked a bit too much.

So much for 43 seconds behind lol

AHHAHAHAHAHH!!!!!! NOOOO

Stage 2 UPDATE:

Robby Gordon has cleared KM230 of 518, and is now 49m36s behind.

Next update at KM275 #TeamSPEED

Dang just hopped on. I was worried about altitude. 6'500 ft is high for a long period of time. Anywhere in the states that you can test for that altitude and temperature together?

Dakar podium is still within sites but can't have any major issues from here on out.

RG at WP9 : + 50min36s

I hate to say it, but this is the kind of stuff you get when the car's not finished until right before you put it on the boat. :-(

Uninformed. Please go away
