STAGE 2 TRACKING

STAGE 2: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > SAN JUAN

Connection 107km | Special Stage 518km | Total 625km

COURSE OVERVIEW

Any rest will be short-lived, because before reaching San Juan, the competitors will have a particularly busy schedule: quite simply the longest special stage in the rally, which is varied enough to unsettle even the most experienced of drivers. Hard terrain at the start of the race will be followed by dusty sections in the middle of the day and a sandy stretch to finish. This is the first real test, which can only be successfully overcome through constant vigilance.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

But very xperienced dakar Guy .
Can add in a very new team for this year. Previously he was driving the HAVAL Chinese Diesel Pickups with a 3litre engine.

Sounds like Stage 2 was about like a Baja 1000 run to the tip!

Plus another 10 racing after that ... Ouch

Per Robyn Gordon RG requiring IV for dehydration.

Any chance they will throw this stage out? Didn't the ASO do that a couple of years ago when a bunch of cars couldn't or didn't finish?

You kidding right !?

Only partly kidding. In 2013 they did cut a stage in half and gave everyone the same E.T. It was due to flooding. If memory serves, Robby and a few others made it across and Nasser didn't. If half the field of cars is out, who knows what the ASO will do......

Only if no Europeans are in the top ten.

I think that was when rains caused river flooding - The first arrivals got across, but the water continued to rise and late starters simply could not get over.

Looks like RG will finish 50th for the stage.

The little $hit that counts....his own words. Its seems its always the little $hit
Head up and keep going
